Halloween

Alison's POV

"Look at this Alison!" My Cousin Adalynn says as she holds up a tiny angel costume.

"there is no way i would wear that!" i say raising a eyebrow.

last night i had called Adalynn and asked her if she wanted to go Halloween costume shopping with me. so here we are in this store a few towns over called Spirit Halloween looking at the never ending costumes and so far nothing that i have looked at has caught my eye.

"ok what do you think about this one" Adalynn says while holding up a scary zombie costume.

"did you seriously think i would go for something as ugly as that?" i say laughing as Adalynn groans and puts the costume back on the rack.

as i go through many costumes i finally find a very cute dragonfly fairy costume and the make up kit that matches the costume.

"will this be all today?" the cashier says as she takes the costume and rings it up. "yes ma'am that's it" i say handing her a 20 dollar bill. she smiles taking the money from me and hands me my costume in a bag. "thank miss come again" the cashier says smiling.

"sooo what do you want to eat?" i say to Adalynn as i drive through town. "i don't know, um what about The Cracker barrel?" she says looking at her phone. "that sounds good! so Cracker barrel it is!"

"mmm the sunrise sampler sounds good" i say looking at the menu. "i think i'm gonna get the southern fried catfish dinner with a side of mashed potatoes and fried squash" Adalynn says laying down her menu and taking a sip of her drink. the waiter takes our order and walks back to the kitchen.

"whose Halloween party is it your going to?" Adalynn asks while cutting into her fried catfish. "his name is Blake, he's the guy that lives down below Grandma in the hollow. he asked me to go with him" i say smiling. "ooohh is he your boyfriend?" Adalynn says raising a eyebrow. I blush and say "i don't know i guess he is but he hasn't even took me out on a date so maybe this halloween party counts as a date." she laughs and says "Grandma has told me about him before and from what she's said he sounds like a pretty nice guy." i smile and say "he's been very friendly and nice to me since i've been here and i like him." Adalynn sets down her drink she had been drinking and says "i'm staying the night at Grandma's tonight!" i smile and say "Yes!"

after leaving Cracker barrel we make the drive back to Grandma's cabin. "hey i just got a text from my boyfriend asking me if i wanted to go to that Halloween party your going to!" Adalynn says excitedly. "i didn't even know you had a boyfriend! what's his name?" i say. i don't understand why she hadn't told me about him. "oh yeah i forgot to tell you about him! i'm sorry!.. His name is James and he lives on the river, i haven't been dating him long. i'm gonna ask him how he know's Blake." she says while typing on her phone. I turn on to the highway that leads to Tellico and speed up as some jerk tries to pass me. "that jerk! i'm not driving that slow!" i say with a huff. i hear a beep sound as Abalynn grabs her phone from her lap and reads the text she just got and she gasps. "what is it? what's wrong?" i say worried. she chuckles "nothing's wrong, James just told me that Blake is his cousin!" i gasp and say "that's awesome!!!." i reach over and turn on the radio and turning up the volume as i hum along to the song playing.

 "AHH!!" i hear Adalynn scream and i look up from the radio to see a Huge wolf in the middle of the road and i slam on the brakes and scream, it just stands there staring at me and i stare back at it and our eyes lock. i can't help but feel like i've seen those eyes before. they glow golden in the headlights and it slowly looks away and takes off in to the woods. i look at Adalynn and say "i have saw that same Wolf since i got here, i'm beginning to think it's following me." Adalynn looks at me wide eyed "i've been seeing a big brown one around my house for awhile now too! i'm scared to go outside anymore, i mean i didn't think that wolves got that big." my heart feels like it's about to beat out of my chest as i start driving again. "well i'm sure gonna be extra careful when i go outside now for sure" i say and Adalynn looks like she's about to have a heart attack. "i'm just worried me or someones gonna get attacked or worse killed by one of the monsters." Adalynn says as she looks out the window.
