July 23rd

Just five more reps, five more reps and you can get water.

Seth's thoughts were a muddle of thirst and desire for rest. His breath cam in quick, short bursts, expanding and contracting his lungs dramatically. Sweat trickled down the sides of his face and from points elsewhere on his body. He finished the last of his sit-ups and stood up, completing his daily physical regiment.

Picking up his satchel, he groped through it and his hand wrapped around the thinner section of his water bottle. Pulling it out he removed the cap and, in one swift motion, drained it of its contents.

I hope this stupid workout is working.

He constantly questioned this but his hopes weren't up for nothing. He'd lost weight since he started. He'd gotten thinner, his muscles toned. And spending so much time in the sun had turned his skin a nice tan shade as well as bleached his black arm and leg hair blonde.

Seth ran his fingers through his medium length, black hair and headed to his car. The Kia Spectra wasn't new, but it wasn't old enough to be interesting either. However its previous owner had been hung on charges of manslaughter. That was something. And he couldn't complain, it got him around.
As he pulled out of the park's parking lot, he felt a wave of monotonous dejavu. This was, after all, day thirty of the work out. It was the thirtieth time he had left after three PM, except this time, his flag bag decided it was going to swivel from its hanging place and slam into his head.

"God dammit!" Seth growled. Rubbing his jaw he pushed it up and over the passenger seat where it landed with a muffled thump.

One hand on the wheel, the other on his sore jaw, Seth resumed his exit of the parking lot and drove down the small road. He passed his work, Pat's Burger Shack, and the local high schools' shared football stadium. Then he turned into the entrance to his apartments and entered his passcode.

C713

The gate creaked open and he entered, parking his car right inside to the right. He got out of the car and grabbed the flag bag and satchel, only to then trudge along the sidewalk to A16, his apartment.
Jingling keys filled the silence of the area as Seth found his key and unlocked the door. As he entered the room he turned on the light switch and set his stuff down. He walked over to the kitchen where he opened a cabinet and pulled out a WGI Scholastic World Champions mug.

He went to the sink to fill the cup with water and remembered the pitcher of tea he had made that morning. He set the cup down and opened the door to his fridge. The pitcher was there along with a gallon of milk, a tomato, and a package of square ham.

He took the pitcher and walked back over to where he had left the mug on the counter. He filled it and went to put the pitcher back in the fridge. He shut the door and returned to the cup. He picked it up but when he brought it to his mouth to take a sip it wasn't there.

He couldn't tell if the shattering sound was the cup or his heart. With a small cry Seth grabbed at the glass shards and picked up what he could placing them on the counter.

The broom, rather than being used to sweep up the smaller pieces he couldn't pick up, sat in the corner as Seth crumpled to the ground and began sobbing. Tears rolled down his face and his nose was clogged. He couldn't breathe and any breaths he was able to take were ragged and burdened.

I ruined it, it's ruined and I ruined it.

He continued to sob for a solid 13 minutes before an alarm went off on his phone. Wiping tears from his face and drying his hands on the side of his shorts he pulled the phone out of his pocket and stopped the alarm. It read "Spin Time".
