Rella.

I was left on the Mellow’s door step in Barcelona, Spain. With me were 3 necklaces and a note locked in between one. I had the name Rella printed on the back of my neck with a star, I later added, above it. The day of my birth, August 1, was printed on my wrist in numeral numbers, no year. I was raised by a couple named Shannon and David Mellow. In Barcelona I would think speaking Spanish was a must, but it wasn't. Where we lived it seemed like no one spoke Spanish. Our Neighborhood wasn't poor but we didn't show off our riches. My home was 2story with a pool like most of our neighbors. We were like the boondocks of Spain, quiet, unwelcoming, mysterious, and strange, but beautiful in our own way. In my house we spoke Spanish, sometimes, but it wasn't necessary. Growing up seemed different for me. I wasn’t what you'd call an out-cast, but very special. My solid green eyes with Hazel flecks and silver black hair made me stand out, earning me more attention and enemies than I liked.  I grew up as any other child would have. I was semi disciplined, and loved, but not normal. Each year something strange would happen. At the age of three the 1st sign of ‘special abilities’ became noticeable. I was, in a way, smarter than my parents. Whenever I wanted something it would magically appear in front of me. And then I would have strange dreams or daydreams that would happen sooner or later. I claimed it was déjà vu, but I knew I couldn’t have it so frequently.

The years went by, stranger and stranger until I turned six, that year was strange but it was the year everything made sense. I kept the three necklaces I was given at birth in a jeweled box brought by Shannon. It was August 1st, and it was my sixth birthday. I was lying down in bed with my eyes closed, but I was not asleep. When I opened my eyes I was in front of the box. I thought to scream, but instead I choked it back down my throat, and then the box opened. The three necklaces I kept were the way I left them, each hanging on a small hook. There was the fang necklace, the brass knuckle necklace, and the sun and moon necklace. I just watched the box, which seemed to have a mind of its own. I never missed anything when it came to sounds and movement, but I missed my fang locket necklace pop open. I missed the note slide out of it, but I did catch the note open up. I ran to the door and locked it, knowing Shannon would come up any minute. I didn’t need her freaking out. I read it alone in silence. It said:

Dear Rella,

We are sorry to leave you like this but we want you to know everything that is going to happen. You have a family, I’m Jade Right and I am your mother, I am also the Queen of the damned. You have a father and a brother named, Jardic and Rick Right. Your full name is Rella Mystic Right, and you are an immortal, a special kind. In being what you are, the first born of a queen and royal king, whom we call the majesty, you have about five different roles. You must discover and master all of you powers within’ a hundred years. You stop ageing when the time comes or when you force it. Keep this information to yourself. I Know Shannon and David Will take care of you. With power comes responsibility. Not all power is good.

I Love You Always and Forever, Mommy.

I was shocked. I think. I was an immortal? I was ‘The Majesty’? I laughed a short laugh. Impossible, I thought. I didn't have powers, I had unfortunate unique coincidences. I mean it was a coincidence when I wanted a cookie and it appeared and it was a coincidence I could predict the future. I could just be the next Matilda for all this sick person knew. Immortality was fantasy and I refused to forget reality. Everything seemed to make sense even though I forced it out of my head. "Immortal" I whispered. It felt good to say it, but it was Fantasy thinking. "I can't be". I couldn’t, and didn’t have time to pull my thoughts together. Shannon was coming to wake me. I put the note away and unlocked the door. I went to lock my box, but it had shut itself and locked just as Shannon came through the door. “Rella?” she whispered, not noticing me in the shadows. “Yes mommy?” I replied in my musical voice, the voice that got me cookies before dinner. I laughed when she jumped startled which earned me a fake glare. "Happy Birthday Baby", she whispered. I’d all but forgotten it was my birthday. Without realizing it at first, I was listening to her thoughts and I gasped. “Oh my Lord. My baby is so beautiful! I just know she is going to love her party!”
