Reborn

My body felt cold when I opened my eyes. I woke up in a room. It looked abandoned. I sat up quickly. My left eye seemed to throb painfully.
"Dammit Yukine! Stop making a mess!" A girl yelled on the other side of the the door. I stiffened. The thought of the shiki made me feel nauseous.
"I have to get out of here!" I whispered to myself. I stood up and looked for a window. It was barricaded. Even if I had no chance on opening it with my bare hands I still tried. Slitting my wrist as I did. I squeaked from the pain, blood dripping on my uniform.
"Eeek!" I let out.
It became silent.
"Yukina... did you hear something?" A guys voice asked the other.
"Yes... could it be that?" She answered.
That? Does that mean me? I panicked as I heard foot steps coming closer to the room.
"No! Don't eat me!" I screamed as the door slid open.
Nothing happened and I opened my eyes to see a pair of twins standing in the door way. One boy and one girl in matching yet different hoodies.
"Oh! Ame-sama! You're awake!" The girl exclaimed as she hugged me.
I stood there in awe. Happy yet confused. I don't know this girl...
"That's good, looks like you were reborn in time." The boy said.
"Reborn?"
They looked at me. "Yes? Don't you know? You died." The girl said.
The words hit me.
You died. I died... I'M DEAD?
I screamed in horror and it startled them.
"Yo! Calm down!" The boy shouted at me. I nodded and fell to the ground covering my ears.
"Yukine, you need to be nicer!" The girl told him as she smacked his head. "When a human dies in a tragic way they are reborn into creatures. Along with that, their souls take a form of their own and the master becomes-"
"Don't tell me!" I cried. She nodded her head.
"We are your souls and you're our master!" She smiled. I layed on my back trying to process the information just given to me.
The boy looked at me in a exhausted expression.
"I'm Yukina! Half of you!" She exclaimed.
"I'm Yukine, the other part of you." He said.
"Wait... I'm only suppose to have one soul of the opposite sex... why do I have two?" I asked.
Yukina looked at me in discomfort. She looked nervous.
"You were killed twice." He answered. "You died from falling five stories and revived but, a shiki killed you and she was born and you were revived twice." He said. I looked down. I'm twice as dead.
"Um... can I use the restroom please?" I whispered. The girl nodded and stood up. The boy just layed down on the floor and went to sleep. Yukina made a disgust face at her brother and lead me out of the room.
"We don't know what kind of creature you are but we'll find out soon, you have to eat sometime and that will tell us." She said.
I stayed silent. I am a orphan with no parents. Ayato was the only one who talked to me throughout school life since preschool. He has his girlfriends so he won't care about me.
I'm okay alone.
Yukina looked at me worriedly.
"Ame, you'll be okay. You have us as your familiars!" She said. She then smiled at me. "We are your weapons when danger comes."
We finally got to the bathroom. It was in another abandoned building. The water doesn't work in the apartment complex we were in.
"I'll wait out here! Call out if you need me Ame-sama!"
I walked into the room. It was rusty but manageable. *throb*
My eye started to hurt again. "Ugh!" I cried. The pain was strong.
"Why is it hurting?!" I screamed in frustration.
"Ame? Are you okay?" Yukina called.
"Mhm..." I replied.
No, I am not okay.
I struggled to the sink. Tears came streaming down. The memory of Ayato telling me to 'go away'. He had a cold stare. He's my only friend.
Not anymore.
The tears dried up and I started to laugh. The cut on my wrist was long gone. No scar it healed.
I don't care.

I looked into the mirror.
"Oh... that's why it hurts so much!" I chuckled.
The eye was dark with a red pupil and blood streaming from it.
My eye was ripped out.
