*Luke's POV*
"Luke.." I heard from my phone. It was Mali who had called.
"Mali, it's early. Why do you want?"
"I'm at the hospital and I need you to go to my house and check on Calum. I saw him walking out, crying."
"What's going on?"
"I'll explain later. Just, please, go."
"Fine," I agreed. I grabbed my shoes and made my way to Calum's house.
When I got there, I didn't see anyone anywhere. I didn't hear Calum either. What was going on?
I ran upstairs and into the bathroom. Calum was lying on the floor with an open pill bottle in his hand. I checked for a pulse. Thank god I found one, and I sat him up. I splashed some water on his face, nothing. He's definitely not sleeping. I knew what I had to do, so I stuck my fingers in his mouth and tried to get him to throw the pills up. He had tried to overdose..
He threw up a little bit. I made him throw up more, but I rushed him to the hospital I couldn't help him much. What if he didn't make it? Oh my god..
------
The doctors took him and told me they could be able help him. I was so worried.
"Mali!" I exclaimed when I saw her in the waiting room.
"So why were you guys here?" I asked.
"Mali, what's going on!?" I heard a voice from behind me, Ashton's voice. Michael was with him.
"Guys, Hayley has been sick and they gave her nine months to live in January. Luke.. Michael.. Ashton.. Hayley passed away a little while ago," she explained. My mouth fell in shock. They boys and I were best friends with her, almost like brothers and sister. Calum must not have been able to handle the pain, then tried to overdose.
"Calum attempted suicide," I blurted.
"What!?" They all three exclaimed.
"Yeah. He tried to overdose. When I got there, I made him throw up a little, but I
brought him here and they say they could be able to help him," I told her more."No.. Not my baby brother," Mali began crying, "I've already lost Hayley. She was like a sister to me. What about Cal? No, this can't be happening."
"Mali, they're trying their best to help him. They promised me."
Michael and Ashton were just standing there, crying about Hayley, and worrying about Calum.
"What about the twins?" Mali looked at me, worriedly.
"What about the twins?" I wondered.
"They were born this morning. The boy at two fifty-six, the girl at two fifty-seven. They need at least one parent. We aren't one hundred percent sure they'll make it, though. They were only thirty-two and a half weeks."
I had explained all of this to mum and dad earlier, but they didn't know about Calum yet. I needed to tell them, but I couldn't.
"Michael, could you please tell my parents about Calum.. I can't," I cried.
"Luke could.. He was there," Michael offered me to tell them. I did tell them, and we were then there, all six of us, crying.
------
Later, a doctor came out and asked for all of us. The group of us six walked up to him and he told us about Calum. He was okay, and he was in a room now. We all sighed of relief.
He went on to the twins. The boy could breathe on his own, which was great. He weighed three pounds, twelve ounces and was fifteen and a half inches long. He would have to gain a little weight before leaving the hospital. They weren't sure how long that would take. The girl could breathe on her own as well, thankfully. She weighed three pounds, seven ounces and was fourteen inches long. She would have to gain some weight too.
Nothing was wrong with the babies. They were healthy, just underweight. They were only born three and a half weeks before twin pregnancies usually last, according to the doctor.
We then went to see Calum. When we got there, he was mad at me. He glared at me, then began crying.
"Luke, why? Why did you do that?" He cried.
"Calum, you can't die!"
"I wanted to be with Hayley again. It's my life, and I should be able to do what I want with it!" Why was he mad? Did he not now about the babies?
"It's not just your life anymore-" I paused as a nurse brought in he babies in bassinets.
"It's theirs too. They need you," I told him, smiling at the babies. His eyes lit up. He must not have known about the babies.
"Oh my god.." He picked them up and held them, one in each arm.
"I'm sorry, Luke. Thank you so much."
*Calum's POV*
I held my babies in my arms. I had them to remember Hayley by. I have a piece of her now. Our baby boy had lighter hair than mine, yet darker than Hayley's with a mixture of our eyes. He had my lips, though. Our daughter had her beautiful blonde hair with her eyes. She had my nose, Hayley's lips. They were beautiful. They were mine.
"Can I hold one?" Mali asked.
"Absolutely," I handed her my daughter. Mali smiled at her niece when she yawned. My son yawned soon after, as if to mimic his sister.
"They're adorable," Mali laughed, and I agreed with her.
Everyone began asking to hold them. I asked mum to call Hayley's mum. Why hadn't anyone called her yet?
The nurse came in to ask me what I was naming them. I looked at both of them and said, "Tate Lucas Hood, Violet Hayley Hood.." (A/N: the first person that tells me where I got the names gets to be in the book later! Go!)
She nodded, writing that down and got the names of the parents. I smiled at the two tiny human beings in my arms.
~
Please tell me where I got the names for the babies (Tate and Violet) if you know! The first person to comment gets to be a character in the story later! (And, if you know it, please comment quickly because I want to say it in the next chapter and have to finish writing it.)
