I was standing and leaning on the bar table while looking at Zack twirling girls around with his free hand.

He was an attractive guy. That edgy black hair of his that gave him a bad boy look. That killer smile, those dashing blue eye, and that strong physique. This guy is what every girl dreams of.

He walked over groggy, lifting his bottle of beer into the air as he went towards me with a drunken smile.

"Are you sure you only want punch?" he asked and took two big gulps of his beer before slamming it on the table.

"Yeah, I'm pretty much okay with it, and all I wanted was water," I said with a smile.

"Suit yourself, but if you change your mind, beer's always here," he said with a wink and walked back over to the dance floor.

I shook my head with a smile and finished my small glass of punch.

I didn't like bars, Zack knew that, but he wanted someone to be there for him so I came along.

He and his three-year girlfriend, Jane, broke up. For the reason, well, she didn't like him anymore.

I watched in envy and pain for three years, seeing them together was heart breaking. I wasn't joyous when I learnt they weren't together. Seeing your best friend break down was even more painful.

Me and Zack were best friends since kids, grew up together and were practically neighbors. We were the dynamic inseparable duo. But years passed, things change, he got a girlfriend, while I remained hopelessly in love with him for who-knows-what reason.

I glanced at my watch and it was almost one in the morning. Zack had been drinking and dancing more than he'd every did.

He came back to the table with an even more groggy look.

"Woah!" he said finishing his beer and was about to take another one from the bucket when I pushed away his hand.

"Hey, don't be a spoiler Alexis," he grumbled.

"You had too many beers," I retorted. "And it's almost one," I added.

"But the fun's just getting started," he exclaimed and was about to take another beer when I slapped it and he looked at me angrily.

"Take another beer or you would pay for everything you drunk and the ones remaining," I threatened.

     He smiled sheepishly.

I rolled my eyes, took out some cash and left it on the table. "Let's go," I said grabbing his hand and left the bar.

I unlocked his apartment and helped him get inside. He was drowning in alcohol so I had to help him walk.

I turned on his bedroom lights and helped him get into bed. I sat on the side and sighed.

I looked at him and he already had his eyes closed. I smiled and was about to go when he suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him.

Taken by surprise, our lips met. I wriggled but his grip was tight around my waist. I pushed away and finally broke free.

I hurried out his bedroom and went in the kitchen. I felt hot and my heart was racing frantically.

I touched my lips and suddenly a smiled crept on my face. I shook my head and exhaled.
