Dream

I was awake the entire time he carried me to the barracks. my eyes were closed shut due to the torturous migraine. I can't feel anything but the pain that invaded every inch of my body. The agonizing pain felt like nothing before, trust me when I say, I would rather have died a thousand times then to feel this any more. Wouldn't "the walls" even give me the luxury of blacking out now, or whatever those fools believe in it didn't seem to do anyone good. The world is too cruel for fragile souls.

My ears were ringing and my eyes were stinging while the birds were singing outside. I don't think my body can take anymore I went into shock and eventually was laid down on a bed. Still in too much pain to open my eyes. A glass of water was place into my hand and I lifted it up to my lips. the liquid felt like a miracle as I drank, I hadn't eaten in days because of the mission and obviously being kidnapped. Why would they even want me? my dad wasn't the important... Before I had left him he had only run a small stand selling fish, trinkets, and other odds and ends. After dwelling on the past I let myself rest and take a moment before falling asleep.

Running, shaking, and gasping for air wasn't the most pleasant way to "wakeup" I had fallen captive to the claws of a beast that was 40x my size again. Trying to escape, grabbing, biting and stabbing the beast was in vain, it had certainly done me no good. Its grasp around me got even more tight restricting my breath. Seeing spots in my vision, I begin to blackout, no one's saving me this time. the moment I lose consciousness I was placed into another dream running from actual people this time. they wanted me dead. they thought I was the antichrist or something. They did look rather religious with all those robes and all... gasping for breath once more as my trembling body sprinted through the dense forest dodging trees, branches, and mutilated human bodies. that wasn't even the most disturbing thing about the dream. The skies were red and the People chasing me from before were gone. The noises of birds and dogs could be heard if you listened closely, they got louder and louder. I looked at a crow that was perched on top of a tree, "What do I do!?", a screamed. Why had I asked a crow that? The crow seemed to have mouthed the one word, Run. My hands were sweaty and my knees buckled as a ran. My body was too exhausted for this, it's not even a real body. This dream was pretty ominous. So vivid. My legs finally gave in and I fell into a small depression in the ground, my ankle twisted and bone was visible. I hadn't yelled out or even thought it was painful. I just stared at it. My heart racing, my hands shaking. A quick glance to my left, the hound found me. It jumped on my and wrung my already mutilated ankle side to side.

When I woke up I was stunned by the dream. Honestly it was more of a memory than a dream. I believe I have never had as dream so clear, or so realistic. I shut my eyes and turned my head. The sun shone too brightly for a world as cruel as this one. I thought of what happened, not even 24 hours ago. Ha, As if the mood I was in could even get any worse. I thought about my dad, and how terrible he could be, drunkard. He was just a child in an adult's body I despised his entire being. It's dumb I shouldn't be complaining. I've been saved twice this week. I hadn't asked for it either time though. it wasn't as though I wasn't grateful, It's just that I think everyone would be better off without taking the time to save me.

My family was pretty horrible, we were threatened by other families, My dad had ruined the family name. Now my mom hadn't a clue why he did these things or why he was so horrible. When I was six my mom disappeared no one really knew where she went but the town had suspected it was my dad's doing. I hadn't actually told anyone this, ofcourse not to burden them. It wasn't necessarily their business either, but maybe I would have felt better if I had told someone sooner. I don't know. It's fine. I thought i would be cool with it but it's the exact opposite, dear god.

I should probably get out of bed now, I'm still in the dirty clothes I had been wearing for 4 days. I found a cleaner pair of clothes and took a shower, the water was cold and refreshing.

I walked down the hall and knocked on the captain's door. I thought I should talk to him about something, anything at least.. He asked me to come in and I sat down in front of the desk. He just kind of... stared at me. His gaze made my stomach turn. My palms started to sweat and I felt really awkward. This is not what I had expected. While we weren't in battle we never spoke a word to each other, now that we're face to face I can't say a word. I can't tell if I'm flustered, angry, or scared. Most definitely all of those feelings.

I managed the small words, "I apologize captain". I spoke quietly, but firmly. the captain's gaze softened and he put his hand under his chin.

"I wasn't aware you did anything wrong." He spoke softly, his eyes shifting towards my fidgeting hands. "Why so nervous, what's on your mind?" At first he can seem like an uncaring, hateful, rude, douchebag, but in reality he cared too much, it's going to break him. Just as it did before.

"A Lot of things sir, but I don't feel like I want to tell now. But I came to apologize for the squad... It was... And i'm sorry you had to save me. You would've gotten away uninjured. I know about your arm, you're not that good at hiding things." I continued to fidget with my hands and my gaze shifted out the window. The afternoon sun shone through the trees and made intricate shadows...

He clicked his tongue and his hand shifted to his forehead. He looked at his desk and pulled out a note from one of the drawers. "Erwin wants to see you." He gave me the note and dismissed me.

Why would the commander want to see me?
