Two things told Urs he'd misread the situation. The first was the complete surprise on Cass' face and the second was the sharp pain in his shin where his sister had kicked him.
Jools jabbed a forefinger at his chest. "What are you doing, Urs? Mutti raised you to have better manners than that. Now be polite. This lady has been very good to me."
My, that was a mouthful, he thought, but quckly realised that Cass' expression had shifted to from startled to puzzled Ahh, Jools had been speaking to him in Swiss German. Cass had probably not understood a word of their exchange.
He stepped back out of Jools' reach and offered Cass a stiff bow. 'I beg your pardon, Fraulein. My sister tells me you have been very kind to her. It is a great honour to make your acquaintance.' He resisted clicking his heels together, but then reverting to Swiss German, raised an eyebrow to Jools and asked. 'There. Are you happy now?'
Cass' expression went from puzzled to outright confused. 'Will someone tell me what's going on?'
Jools threw her hands up in the air and exclaimed. "I give up." She turned to Cass with an apologetic smile. "My brother has a very odd sense of humour sometimes. But believe it or not, he is quite a nice guy." Then, turning her attention back to Urs, she said "Eloise is due for a feed now. I'm going to the Special Care nursery, and no, you may not come along. "
'Then why did you ask me to visit at this time?" Urs was starting to get the feeling that he'd been set up. He loved her dearly but his sister was a born meddler.
Jools was already heading away from them, and called back over her shoulder. "I'll be back in about half an hour. So play nice."
Cass looked at her watch. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Mr...?"
"Bueller, Urs Bueller."
Cass nodded brusquely and started to walk away. "We've just finished this class and now I have to write up my notes, so if you'll excuse me."

Cass thought that she'd almost made good her escape, A few more steps and maybe he won't be able to hear my heart pounding any more ,she thought, then she noticed he was now walking with her.
She gave him her best professional glare, which he proceeded to ignore and he said conversationally. "I'm not sure what my sister was trying to do back there..."
"Aren't you?" Cass took refuge in anger. " I think it was pretty obvious, don't you?"
"Enlighten me."
Cass sighed. Maybe he was an innocent party in this too. "Your sister thinks I have this Village People fetish – and suddenly YOU turn up – looking like that." Cass waved her hand at his leather attire.
Urs almost choked with surprise. "And do you?"
They were nearing the nurses' station. " Do I what?" she hissed, as their presence was starting to draw some interested looks. She could hardly blame the staff. He was a very good looking man underneath his biker attire, and there was something about the way he walked in those black riding chaps that reminded her of a wild cat. Concentrate, she urged herself.

"Have a Village People fetish? " Urs was starting to enjoy himself now. Her cheeks went the prettiest pink when she was embarrassed – and he loved the way her eyes flashed her annoyance – and she was clearly annoyed now. Funny, he'd only known her for a few minutes and he was already learning to read her emotions. This was turning out to be the most fun he'd had in days.
"Is it only the Biker you like? Or are you trying for the whole set? Jools' husband is a builder. I bet I could ask him to come in with his hard hat on," he murmured and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Mind you, I might struggle to find you an American Indian at short notice. It's the feathered head dress, you know."
By now the staff at the nurse's station were throwing him some very interested looks, so Cass gritted her teeth and forced a smile." Perhaps we should continue this conversation elsewhere."
He nodded his head agreeably. "OK. I find I'm at a loose end for a while now anyway." He gestured at the door leading from the ward. "Shall we?"
Cass moved out of earshot and started to follow him to the exit. Her work phone buzzed in her pocket and she automatically reached in to check it. It was a text from Amy. "Urgent! Girls night out tonight. You in?"
Cass took a deep breath. The girls would never believe she'd met of all nationalities, a Swiss biker today. She typed back, hell yeah. She figured a lot of alcohol would be involved.
She threw back her shoulders and with Amy and Romy's Swiss flag tattoos on their rumps high in her mind, thought, the Hell with it, let's see what you've got, Urs.
