Emma stalked along the dark, damp alleyway. It had been five years since her vampire lover, Kylar, had been murdered by the so-called vampire hunter. She thought it was time for them to be the ones that were hunted. She had long ago killed the hunter that murdered her love, he had been the first of many. She was now looking for others, saving the innocent vampires that everyone thought were monsters.

She saw one, a male hunter, creeping up on a female vampiress who was walking along the street, her footsteps light on the cobblestones. She hated hunters like this, who killed vampires who weren't even hunting, there was no reason to, and most didn't kill their prey in the first place. She pulled out the short blade she had hidden in the sleeve of her black leather jacket. She moved in quickly and silently, she leapt before the hunter had the chance to fire his crossbow. She plunged her dagger into the back of his neck, severing the vertebrae, killing him almost instantly.

She looked at the female vampiress, who had turned at the smell of the hunter's blood, she studied Emma before nodding curtly and taking off down another alleyway. Emma didn't mind that the vampiress taken off; it was for the best, who knew where other hunters could be lurking. She wiped off the blade and slipped it back up her sleeve for the next hunter. She moved back into the shadows, looking around for any other hunters that might be in the area and could have possibly seen the vampiress. She walked down the alley a little ways and froze, the vampiress was standing in front of her and a male vampire was standing a little farther back, hidden in the shadows that the gas lamps threw over the alley.

"Hello. My name is Aurora." the vampiress said, her voice like a cold wind, raising the hair on the back of Emma's neck. She watched as the vampiress studied her.

Emma watched the vampiress warily; "Hello?" she replied cautiously, wondering what the vampiress was doing, they usually never spoke to her.

Aurora smiled at her, "I do not mean you any harm. You saved my life after all."

Emma looked at her, "Then what do you want?" she asked.

"I wanted to know why you saved me, I thought humans were under the impression we were monsters that are only meant to be hunted down."

Emma was already shaking her head, "No, I know you are not monsters. I saved you because I do not believe you should die." she replied simply, after all, that was mainly the truth.

"Well, that is a surprise, thank you. If you are ever in need of assistance we will help." Aurora said, looking over at the male vampire who was watching them, still cloaked in the shadows.

Emma nodded, "Thanks." she replied as both of the vampires' disappeared down the alley. She was left wondering about the odd vampires that had offered her assistance if she ever needed it, she had a feeling that this was the beginning of something.
