Shadow's POV
Everything hurts. . . The nurse is unwrapping my bandages and another is having to hold Sonic back so he won't get in the way. The last bandage is off and I look down at my chest. There is a large scar, but my chest fur covers it.
"You'll be free to go home after a few hours Mr Shadow. We just have to clean you up and find a sling." A blonde hedgehog with green eyes said and smiled brightly. "Yeah. . . Okay." I looked over at Sonic.
Turns out Eggman wasn't dead, but he was pretty banged up. His robots were workers ng on healing him, as for me. . . I returned home with Sonic and Tails to find a "Welcome Back" party waiting for me. Even Silver and Blaze came to check in on me. I guess I do have friends, Good ones at that. Maria was right, I did find happiness here.
In the end everything worked out. . . I fell in love, I made Maria happy, I had people who cared about me. . . I rebuilt my life with nothing but a faker and his real feelings. With that in mind I looked at Sonic with a smile, and hugged him from behind.
"Thanks. . . For everything." I said and hurried my nose in his shoulder, kissing it lightly. "No problem! And since you're still healing you can top tonight!" He added that last part with a wink, whispering it.
"You- . . ." Way to ruin a moment. . . My faker.
