Riley POV
In all honesty, I wasn't looking forward to my tutoring session with Lucas. I knew I would do something embarrassing, like trip over my shoelace or something.
Also, who knew what he thought of me, or what his jock friends told him to think of me.
All these questions were racing through my head as I stared at my open closet. My eyes burned holes through each and every one of my outfits.
I finally decided on a light grey turtleneck, with black jeans and some boots. I put my hair in a low bun and grabbed my backpack. As I walked to the living room, Auggie attacked me with a hug.
"Hello, Mr. Auggie! And how are you doing this fine morning?" I asked.
"Great, Ms. Riley." We giggled and sat down to eat breakfast.

You know those times where, when you are dreading what's going to happen at the end of the day, but life seems to hate you, so the day goes by quickly?
Apparently, I was having one of those days.
At the end of the day, I walked to my locker and took my time putting all my unnecessary items in my locker. Then I realized, what if I'm going too slow? I'm the tutor, I should be the early one!
So I quickly scrambled to the library, where we were told to meet, and pushed open the doors. I looked around for an empty table when I saw Lucas sitting down at a table, going on his phone.
My breath hitched in my chest and I quickly walked over. As usual, I stuttered when I opened my mouth.
"H-hi. I'm so sorry, I-I'm not late, am I? Because I was p-putting my s-stuff away, then I came, a-and then I saw you, so I-I didn't know-"
I stopped talking when Lucas started laughing quietly. He noticed me pause and quickly spoke.
"No, no you're not late. I just figured since you're one of the smartest people in the school, I better come early. So no, you're actually right on time." He smiled. I blushed when he called me 'one of the smartest people in the school'. I sat down and took out my math textbook and a pencil.
I looked over and saw that he was doing the same, and pulling out his previous tests and quizzes.
"Shoot, I forgot a pencil. Do you mind if I borrow one?" He asked. I looked into my pencil pouch and found the sharpest pencil I owned at the moment and handed it to him.
"So, um, w-what do you want to start with?" I asked nervously. He sighed, and slid one of his tests over to me. I did not hide my surprise when I saw the big F written on his paper. My eyes widened, then I looked up and quickly realized my behaviour.
"Oh, oh no this is good, I just, um." I tried to think of something to say.
He chuckled. "No, it's okay. I wouldn't need a tutor if I got perfect scores, now would I?" I gave him tiny smile. The test was mostly on some things we learned a couple weeks ago, so I took out my notes and got ready to work.

I wouldn't describe tutoring Lucas Friar hard.
But maybe having me tutor Lucas Friar, yeah that makes it kinda hard.
The whole time, I kept stuttering and making mistakes because of how nervous I was. When 4:30 rolled around, marking the end of our tutoring session, I was ready to leave.
I grabbed all my books, my notebook, and my pencil case and quietly murmured a "bye"."Wait!" Lucas said, and I whirled around faster than he could throw and football.
"You forgot this." He held out my pencil I let him borrow.
"Oh, y-yeah, um, right. Thanks." I quickly took the pencil and rushed out of the library before I could embarrass myself even more.
Once I got home, I greeted Auggie and my dad (since my mom wasn't home), and grabbed some grapes. I headed to my room and plopped myself on my bed, relaxing for a bit. Thinking about how much I could barely speak when I was around him, and I nearly survived an hour and a half of that.
I was going to have to do this for another two months?
