He pulls away then quietly sits on his bed while I stand in shock. "Okay, I really like you and please date me." He blurts out quickly.

I sit down next to him and stare at my fingers. "I'm only playing hard to get because if Heather found out-" He cuts me off.

"I know we could get in trouble but not as much as you would think." He says and I smile.

"Yes." I whisper and he kisses my cheek. We talk about stupid things we did in our childhoods for almost three hours.

"It's almost four in the morning!" I shout and he laughs. "Oh my god, Demi wakes up in the middle of the night sometimes." I say and he stands up.

"Let's get you home." He grabs my hand and leads me to his car

The car ride is silent, and pretty short. When I go to walk in the back door, it's locked and Demi is sitting on the couch watching television.

I groan to myself and climb up the house to my window. Luckily, Jessi can't sleep unless a window is open so I crawl in bed and lay there for about half an hour before falling asleep peacefully.

I wake up three hours later and sigh at the lack of sleep I got. I look at my phone and for once I don't have any text messages.

I walk downstairs and smile at Demi who has eggs sitting on the plate in front of her. "Do you want something?" Demi asks standing up and I shake my head.

"No, I just woke up. You know I don't like to eat when I first wake up." I smile and she nods

"You have a doctors appointment today, it's been six months since your cancer and the doctors want to see if the tumor is growing back." Demi said.

"I thought the doctor said we only had to look if we thought it was growing back." I say and she nods.

"Yeah, that's what they said." Demi says and goes back to eating.

"I don't have any signs. I don't feel different." I argue. "You have a bruise right there." Demi points to my arm and I lay my hand over it.

"Look at this picture from your birthday party. You look paler." Demi keeps talking as I groan.

"That means nothing, it's the middle of winter. People get pale." I continue to argue.

"That doesn't change the fact that you're going to the doctors. It's in 45 minutes. I'd start getting ready." Demi shrugs and places her empty plate in the sink.

I groan and walk up to my bedroom and start getting ready. I put makeup on but not a lot. Just enough to make myself bearable to the public. I put on dark blue skinny jeans and a pink sweater with a white tank top under it.

"Why are you getting ready?" Jessi mumbles rubbing her eyes. "Demi thinks my tumor is growing back. I have to go to the doctors." I shrug pulling on plain black shoes.

Jessi nods and lays back down after grabbing her phone.

The car ride is silent, besides my thumbs madly tapping my phone screen when I would get a text.

"Let's go." Demi mumbles getting out of the car.

They do a bunch of different tests on me but eventually it's over and he leaves the room for about ten minutes.

"We'll let you know tomorrow. We haven't gotten the test results back." The doctor smiles at us and we nod.

The rest of the day goes by slowly. I'm too nervous to find out if my tumor is growing back, I barely eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
