“Silent” was the main adjective, people used when describing that eventful night. Because it had been a boring and silent night for most of the people, but it was one of the most eventful nights for a teenage girl named Alexis.
About midnight, she was sitting on her bed, looking around her room frantically like she was looking for something or someone. She wore dark shorts and a white top, her pale skin reflecting the tiny bit of light of her bedside lamp created. Then she shook her head and pulled her blanket up until it went over her delicate neck.
Her arm shot out quickly and turned the light out, then she pulled it back with closed eyes. Her breathing was quickened and in her mind she hummed prayer after prayer that she’d be safe. This was her ritual before she would fall asleep but something felt different to all those other nights.
She always had felt like she was watched at night but this time the feeling was even stronger and Alexis tried to control her breathing. If something was trying to attack she’d scream and then her family would come running to her and she would be safe.
Something banged against her window and she felt like her heart just stopped. She held her breath and listened for any sound. It was quiet and Alexis relaxed slightly.
Then she heard a quiet sound like the bathroom door was opened, the image of the opened bathroom window filled Alexis’s mind and her heart beat increased. After another moment of silence she had finally drifted into a deep, dreamless sleep.
A burning sensation from her left arm woke her up a few hours later, it was still dark outside but it wouldn’t be long until the sun would start rising.
Her gaze fell on a fresh, red scratch winding up her arm, just as if something had pierced the skin with its claws.
Her breathing picked up again and she slowly started to doubt she could breathe any faster without having a heart attack.
She decided she was having a hallucination and if she tried to sleep she’d wake up earlier. Before she turned off the light, she turned on some music, to drown out those noises. Alexis was sure, they were part of her imagination and some nice music would overshadow them.
Due to the low music playing near to her ear she noticed the dark shadow above her too late. Her eyes widened at the sight of the horrifying creature hovering above her.
She couldn’t make out many details but she saw the giant, sharp claws that were placed on her shoulders securely. Yellow gleaming predator eyes were staring hers, daring her to scream but she didn’t find her voice, the shock and the fear overpowering her body.
It opened its mouth and pearly white teeth with sharp canines came into Alexis’ view.
“I promised I’d come for you my dear!” It hissed and then Alexis felt a sharp pain blossoming from her neck.
Her body not able to cope with the immense pain, shut down and everything went black.
