The bond we share

Chapter 7

I wake up at 5:30 and jump in the shower. After my shower I put on some jeans and a t-shirt and head down stairs. It's Saturday so I decide to let Ty sleep in so I grab a apple and eat it as I walk out the door. I get to the barn and go to the fields Denver is already there waiting for me, I pat his neck.

 I open the gate and wait for him to walk out the close it back. We walk back to the barn and I grab his halter and slide it over his head and clip him  the the cross ties. I walk into the tack room grab my grooming bag and brush Denver down. The sun finally decided to come out of the clouds after I finished grooming Denver. After I put my grooming stuff away I grab my western tack and put it on Denver's back. I tighten the cinch and clip on my breast collar and slide my western bridle on him. I lead him out side and put my foot in the stirrup and slide my self in the saddle. We walk down the side of the barn to our trail.

 Once we make it to the entrance of the trail I Text my mom and let her know where I'm going. We walk through the tree line and I listen to the birds singing and creek water flow.  We walk for about 10 more minutes and make it to the creek we cross the creek and stop to watch some deer in the opening leading to a open field. Once the deer are gone we walk in to the open field, I can feel Denver wanting to go fast so I let him. We canter and gallop across the field and he loves it.

 After we slow down I pat his neck and we walk back into the wooded part of the trail. We walk the rest of the way and make it back to back of our field where all the horses are. I open the gate from Denver's back and walk through the field all the horses start following us as we head back to the barn. I open the gate by the barn and let all the horses walk into there stalls. 

I get off Denver and lead him into the barn as we walk down the barn I latch all the horses stalls shut. I take Denver's bridle off and slide his halter over his head. I un tack and brush him down after he is cool and groomed, I un hook his halter and let him walk into his stall. I walk down to the tack room and get every ones grain. I put it all on the grain cart and walk to each stall clip there grain bucket in there stall. After I finish graining, haying, and watering I clean up. Once I'm done cleaning up it's about 8:30 going on 9:00 am, so I decide to go back to the house.

 My mom is in the kitchen drinking coffee and Ty is sitting at the table eating eggs and toast.

 "Good morning" My mom smiles at me.

 "How was your trail ride?" 

"It was good, we saw a herd of deer." I say to my mother.

 "There are eggs in the pan I saved for you." My mother replies.

 "Thanks." I say as I grab a plate and get my eggs. Once I sit down I smile at Ty as he is across from me eating as well.

 We both glance at each other, and then I start eating. I finish my break fest and put my plate in the sink and head up to my room. Once I'm there I change into some work out shorts and a  t-shirt.. I look at the picture of me and Denver and think about the first day I got him. He was so scared but yet so trusting of me as well. I put the pick up and lay down read my book. Twilight to be exact, I can't get enough of it no matter how much I read.
