Down the Rabbit Hole
I fell asleep. Yeah that must be what happened. I'm just having another one of my crazy dreams. I'm screaming as I fall down this hole and its definitely the biggest and strangest thing I've ever seen. I frantically grab at the walls which are covered with paintings, ancient maps, cracked mirrors, demonic masks, and a lot more. In my effort to stop myself from falling to my death I pull out books, jam jars, a crystal ball, a badger claw, a monkey's hand, and a human skull. What's stranger is the objects aren't falling the same way as me. They're falling upwards above my head.
It feels like I've been falling for hours and hours. Its getting brighter and I see what I believe is the end of this tunnel thing. I close my eyes tightly waiting for the impact of hard ground. And it does come. Hard. "Ah!... Ow." The air is knocked out of my lungs and I hits my head on impact. I gasp for air as I hold my side. After a couple seconds of recovering I sit up and rub my sore forehead. I look around to see an upside down chandiler beside me. I look up to see my hair floating above me. My eyes widen as I realize the chandiler isn't upside down. I am. Suddenly I drop to the floor harshly.
I groan loudly as the wind is once again knocked out of my lungs. I lay there for a bit longer as the air returns to my lungs. I push myself up off the floor and stumble over to some nearby doors. There's four large wooden doors. and I try opening all of them but of course they're all locked. After I failed to open those doors I come to a large curtain. I pull it back to reveal a tiny door only about two feet high. I look around the room to see a three-legged glass table has appeared out of nowhere. I look around to find the person who put it there but I find no one. Furrowing my eyebrows I walk over to the table to find a bottle of unknown liquid and a key on it. I pick up the key and examine it. Its too small for the big wooden doors so it must go to the small one behind the curtain. I go over to the small door and unlock it with the key, "Great, but now how am I supposed to get through there?" I talk to myself. I bend down and look through the open door. I can see a pathway and a small garden. I sigh and close the door and go back over to the table and the strange bottle of liquid.
"I really hope this doesn't make me sick. Or kill me. That'd be bad," I talk to myself a lot. There's a tag on the bottle, I pick it up and it says, 'Drink Me.' I pop the top off and sniff it but it doesn't really have a smell. "Well, if the bottle says so," I say to myself and take a swig from the bottle. I start coughing from how bitter and sour it tastes and almost spit it out. The table is getting bigger. ITS GETTING BIGGER. Or am I getting smaller. WHY AM I GETTING SMALLER? Ok, its ok. Just take deep breaths. Alright I almost started freaking out there for a minute but I'm ok now. I'm just gonna go with everything from now on, no matter what it is. At the same time I'm scared, I'm also really excited because this is the coolest thing that's ever happened to me. "So strange," I whisper to myself. I'm surprised I've manage to hold onto the key this entire time. I'm the same height as the door now. As I walk over to it I trip on my oversized dress and face-plant. 'I just love being clumsy,' I think sarcastically as I get up. But as I'm getting up something shines in the corner of my eye.
~~Unknown voices she can't hear~~
"What is she doing? You'd think she'd remember this from the first time," The first voice says in a hushed tone. "You've brought the wrong Lily," The second voice acuses the third "She's the right Lily. I'm certain of it." the third voice defends.
~~Back to normal~~
I walk back under the table to find a glass box with some sort of cake inside. I'm really curious to see what this does so I open the box, get the cake, and take a couple bites out of it. I really hadn't noticed how hungry I was until now. Soon everything gets smaller. My dress gets tighter, buttons pop off, and the skirt gets shorter. The ceiling is getting closer and closer, "No... No. Stop growing!" Just as my head grazes the ceiling I stop. I sigh in relief, but soon start smiling as I think about how cool it s that I'm now ten to fifteen feet tall, "This is so awesome!"
~~Unknown voices she can't hear~~
"She's the wrong Lily," The second voice argues. "Give her a chance," The third voice defends nervously.
~~Back to normal~~
Then I remember that I need to get out of here, "Ok, focus." I make sure the key is still in my hand and it is then I take another drink of that nasty liquid. After I've shrunk back down to the size of the door I jog over to it while dragging my oversized dress behind me. When I get to the door I push the key into the key hole and turn it until I hear it click. Once I hear that click I turn the door knob, push open the door and step through.
