Chapter 11

The Bandersnatch

The Red Castle Halls-Night

After leaving Tarrent to his work I wander the castle,  just trying to figure out a plan. Then I spot the Tweedles when it suddenly hits me and I approach them. 'Im so stupid.  I should have thought of this before.' They're stationed on either side of the Queen's courtroom door. "Tweedles!" They turn to face me. "Lily!" They each grab one of my hands and shake them vigorously. "Howdoyedo again?" Dum asks. "Where's...? " But Dee cuts me off. "How is it you're so great big?"

"She ain't great big. This is how she normally is." Dumb argues. "Where's the...?" I can't finish my sentence when Dee interupts me again. "I'm certain she is smaller when we meet." I sigh and slump my shoulders. "She had to drank the pishsalver to get through the door, recall it?" I put my hands over their mouths. "Where's the Rabbit?" I quickly spit out and uncover their mouths. "Over theres!" They say in unison but point in different directions.  I sigh again and facepalm.

I follow the Tweedles down and hall they finally agreed the rabbit was in. I soon see the dormouse, dressed as a chamber maid.  Its kinda funny seeing her in a dress since she acts so big and bad. She was whispering with the McTwisp. "What're you doing here?" I ask Mally. I handy seen her here until now. She glares at me. "Im rescuing the Hatter!" I roll my eyes at her. "Im here doing the same. He told me the Vorpal Sword is hidden in the castle somewhere. That means someone here must know where it is... a footfrog, chamber mouse, pigstool, someone! Ask them all go!" The Tweedles go off, but Mally and McTwisp remain. "I don't take orders from big, clumsy, galumphing..." I stand over her and wave my hand at her. "Shoo!" She stalks off as I bend down to a nervous McTwisp. "What is it?" I say as gently as possible. "I know where the sword is." He says barely above a whisper. "Why didn't you say so before?"  How looks at me concerned. "Because it's very dangerous."

After convincing McTwisp to take me to the sword we stand in front of the royal stables. I scrunch Please my nose as a putrid smell invades my senses. "I'd know that awful smell anywhere." I peak inside the stables the Bandersnatch laying in his stall with his huge, ugly head on his paws. He groans as he touches his eye socket, which is still oozing blood. I gasp as close the door quickly. "I can't go in there! Look what he did to my arm!" I pull down my bandage to show McTwisp my wound. Its larger than it was and is now very swollen. McTwisp gasps. "Dear oh dear! Why haven't you mentioned this?" I cover my arm back up. "It wasn't this bad before." McTwisp twitches and his breathing quickens and as he starts to wring his hands he faints. I sigh and look back at the door. 'I have to'

I've been searching the castle for Mallymkun for a while now and I'm starting to doubt if I'll ever find her. I finally find her studying and decorative sword on the wall. "Mally! Do your still have the Bandersnatch's eye?" She pull on and pouch which i can only assume has the eye in it. "Right here." I hold out my hand. "I need it." She swats my hand away by swinging her hatpin sword at me. "Get your own!"

"Please Mally, I need that eye." I look at her with pleading eyes. She smirks and stands tall, for her height that is. "Come get it." But of course she realizes that she's much smaller than me with a tiny weapon.  I giggle at her and she laughs too lowering the hatpin. "Right." She tosses me the eye right as the Tweedles approach. "Thrusting now!" Dum laughs. "No, stabbing!" Dee joins in. "Thrusting like this!" Dum says as he thrusts an imaginary sword at Dee.

~~3rd Person POV~~

The Tweedles start poking each other as if their own fingers were swords. Mally looks at Lily with a mischievous gleam in her eyes as she laughs. Mally throws Lily her hatpin sword as she pulls the sword off the wall. Turns out it wasn't as decorative as Lily thought it was. Lily yelps and laughs as she takes her stance and begin to duel. They go down the castle halls, past the Queen's dressing room.

In that room the Hatter puts hats on the Queen. She looks in her mirrors which are distorted to make her head appear normal sized. Just as Lily and Mallymkun pass by the Hatter looks up to see Mally chasing Lily with a huge sword. A moment later and the battling Tweedles pass by as well. They're all laughing as they battle and Hatter can only giggle and shake his head at them.

Mally stands on and bureau with Lily up against a wall. Mally swings but Lily ducks as the sword swishes over her head. Lily quickly runs around Mally and out of the castle as she giggle. Mally doesn't give chase, but instead heads back to where the Hatter is. Once there Mally shakes her head at him we if to say that Lily is a hopeless case.

~~Lily's POV~~

I've gotten back to the stables finally and as I approach the Banbersnatch's stall he growls. I stop a few feet away from him and hold out his eye. "I have your eye." I try to sound as calm as possible. He starts to whine so u slowly open the stall door and ease inside and close the door behind me. I hold the eye a bit closer to him but he growls so I put the eye down in front of him. He sniffs it and pulls it closer with his paws.

While he's busy putting the eye back into the socket I dart to the back of the stall. When I get back there I see and large tarp covering something. As I pull the tarp off I can see and huge chest that has a huge lock on it. I try to pull on the lock but of course it didn't open. "Why would it, you idiot." I mumble your myself amd sigh. I sit on the ground and slump against the chest.

My arm starts to throb so I pull off my bandage to see my wound is even more swollen and now infected. I lightly touch it but immediately regret Its my whole arm burns and aches. I gasp as I try to hold in my cries of pain. I look at the Bandersnatch who is still busy with his eye. I start to sweet and shiver as my vision start to get blurry. I have the lock one final tug before the world goes black.
