Chapter 4
Morning soon arrived, and just like every other day Elsa went on her morning stroll through the gardens, her turquoise gown effortlessly trailing behind her and shimmering in the early morning sun. As she reached the harbour she threw her hands up in the air creating a flurry of snow to cascade over the kingdom, she smiled as the ground once more turned white. Her magic flowed over the fjord until the water froze into a magnificent ice rink, but she made sure to leave part of the fjord unfrozen so that the ships could still come and go freely.
Elsa gazed out over her kingdom and let out a deep relaxed breath. 'Your majesty' Elsa heard a voice on the wind, she turned but could see no-one around, 'your majesty' the voice came again only this time it was closer. Elsa's eyes darted left then right but still nobody could be seen. 'Queen Elsa' Elsa jumped back as she felt a hand touch her shoulder 'oh Prince Hans, it's you.' 'Sorry to startle you' Hans smiled apologetically 'it's ok. I trust you had a pleasant night' Elsa composure returned as she stood up straighter. 'I did thank you. May I join you on your walk' Hans asked politely to which Elsa responded with a smile 'of course, I'd be glad of the company' Hans offered her his arm to which she threaded her own through his and the two walked throughout the kingdom greeting and talking to the townsfolk as they went.
'I just don't understand how there can be so much snow around yet there isn't a cloud in the sky' Hans noted, more to himself than Elsa 'it's probably blown down from the north mountain' Elsa replied. Hans opened his mouth to speak further but was interrupted by a young girl running up to them 'Queen Elsa, my mother wanted me to give you this. She made it herself' the youngster presented Elsa with a marble glass pendant made from blues and whites to match her element. 'Thank you' Elsa smiled as she clipped the pendant around her neck and allowed it to fall into place in the centre of her chest, she then swirled her hands in front of her and a snowflake and ice pendant appeared around the young girl's neck. 'Oh my, thank you your highness' the girl squeaked throwing her arms around Elsa's neck before hurrying away to show her mother.
Hans and Ela continued to walk until they reached the castle 'thank you for your company Prince Hans' Elsa smiled courteously before turning on her heel and making her way towards the study where she knew King Sven would be waiting to discuss the details of their trade links.
As her hand brushed over the door handle she could feel a searing heat, without thinking she flung the door open and was thrown backwards as the flames burst from the room. Elsa crashed into the wall and her body slumped to the floor, blackness clouded her vision but not before she saw a figure emerge from the flames with that fiery auburn hair that matched the flames behind him. He knelt beside her and whispered in her ear but her unconsciousness took affect before she could hear what he could say...
