Will's eyes were already half shut as he waited for Jordan's call. Of course, two seconds after shutting his eyes again, his phone rang.
"Hey Jordan," Will whispered into his phone, making sure not to wake his parents in the next room.
"Hey Will," Jordan's voice quivered. Thunder was heard from outside, booming and crashing.
"Are you really afraid of thunder?" Will said half asleep, struggling to stay awake.
"Yeah, don't judge me," Jordan blushed behind the screen and shifted in bed, "Are you British?"
"Yeah, moved to America last year."
"And you picked here?"
"I had no choice. Parents decided."
"You can get your own place, isn't that better?"
Will thought. Of course it would be better it's just that, his disease. His parents want to keep him under close watch because of it. Will's mother told him not to tell anyone about it, so he didn't. "Medical issues," he answered simply. Another crack of lightning was heard from the outside storm, Jordan flinched. "I mean," Will continued, "I can't live by myself."
"You can come stay with me...," Jordan trailed off, "...I mean unless you, you know, don't uh, want to. Like, we just met," he laughed, "I forgot. Sorry." Jordan was definitely awkward, Will now knew. Unless he was shy at talking to people for the first time. It is the first time they ever talked, verbally that is.
Will knew what he would say is a big risk. For all he knew, Jordan could be a murderer! But before Will could answer, Jordan spoke up, "This is weird I'm sorry. I'm a little awkward."
"Awww cute," Will said sarcastically, "I know we live in the same town, but where?"
"Near the mall." Will grew more and more tired. He didn't know what to do, as the only thing that was breaking the silence, was the storm outside. "We should meet up one day."
"Yeah, sure." Will wasn't really up to meet Jordan yet. He didn't know if he should trust him or not. Will is open to everyone he closely knows, but to Jordan, Will's closeted. He was afraid of what Jordan would say. Is he homophobic? Will didn't know.
"I should let you sleep," Jordan whispered, "Sorry for waking you up."
"It's alright. Sleep well, okay? I'll talk to you tomorrow," Will said.
"Ok! Bye Will, thanks." And with that, the call ended. Will placed his phone on the bedside table, and fell asleep with a smile on his face.
