Thee walls, THE WALLS, they close in on me.
They laugh and point, pointing out imperfections.
Oblivious to their own.
Ignorance at its finest.

The lights, THE LIGHTS, they ostracise me.
Endless recognition haunts my long-forgotten sins.
Shadows are not loyal.
Pity the fool who turns to them for protection.

Truths turn to Tales turn to taunts.
Friends fear fake fronts and flee.
Shadows and friends now interchangeable,
Come and go with the wind.

Emotions merge, morph and mingle.
Hearts break, melt and turn to ice.
Academic passion becomes a self defense.
Protection from attacks masking insecurity.

Circles, I keep circumventing.
Pyramids, I just can't climb.
An institution broken into shapes,
Attended by a shapeless man.
