It is the 16th century in Anivard. The line of the Morsteins is split. Twin heirs are born, both liable for the throne, Ophelia and Dimitri. On their tenth birthday, they swear to rule together in front of the king and the city. But power corrupts even the closest of people. When the king dies, Dimitri immediately assumes the title of king and sends his sister off in exile, claiming women should never rule. Angered by his decision Ophelia vows to take back what is rightfully hers, disguising herself and allying with those who wish to rid themselves of the bad blood line. Along the way she learns of the turmoil and poverty her country is in, something she as a child was never exposed to. She starts to realize that there's more to ruling than taxes and politics. Ruling is not a chess game, where you can start over when your kingdom falls. When a line falls, it's gone forever. Which isn't always bad when you have nothing left to lose. Ophelia plans to show her brother how much he underestimated her. It's her throne and she has come to conquer it.

Hello all! This story first started as my project for nanowrimo but unfortunately i only got halfway through. The best part is, though, that I grew so attached while writing this story I decided to continue on and complete this! Thank you to those of you who were there with me from the beginning and thank you for taking the time to read this!
