The day starts off with me falling off the bed. What a great way to wake up. I groan trying to get up wondering where my parents are. I rub my but while looking around the room when my eyes land on a piece of paper on the nightstand.
Kat,
If you wonder where we are look for us at café where we ate lunch yesterday.
Love Mom
They probably went there because there is a better chance there that Tate wouldn't find out about any magic, I thought as I went to the bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed into clean clothes. I looked at myself in the mirror and saw that my dark brown eyes were sparkling with excitement.
It took me a while to soak in everything that has happened so far. When I went down stairs I saw many busy wizard reading their newspaper, the Daily Prophet, with the moving pictures. Wow this is real.
I left the Leaky Cauldron and went to the café where my mom told me where they would be. I only saw my dad there drinking coffee so I approached him.
"Your mom took your brother out so I could talk to you" my dad said as I took a seat across from him.
"About what?" I studied him carefully.
"You are going off to a school miles away you'll need supplies" he said. He further explained on where and how we had to go to buy the supplies.
He took me behind the Leaky cauldron and opened up a brick wall I stared in awe. The street was full of wizards of all shapes and sizes. They were all dressed in cloaks of all colors. The buildings were abnormal yet phenomenal.
My dad and I snaked around the crowd and made it to Gringotts to get wizard money. My dad gave a fair amount of money for the year. Gringotts was a curious place with many short goblins according to my father. We step out and start going to shops. First off was Flourish and Blotts where I have to buy my books. I look at my list and I read the needed books.

The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble
When I got my materials I went upfront to purchase them and the lady guessed it was my first year going to Hogwarts. Then I went to buy my uniform, which are just simple black robes, and other needed equipment like cauldrons. Finally the time came and I bought everything I needed so all I need now is to get my wand. My dad lead me to a store Olivanders where and old man with gray hair and electrifying blue eyes stood.
"How has it been Strangewood?" he said to my father.]
"Fine and you Olivander?" he said to the old man who happens to be Olivander.
"Grand and I see you have your daughter here. First year at Hogwarts?" He turned to me and asked. I nodded my head as he led me toward the front desk. He looked at the many boxes trying to look for the right one. He found one and handed it to me. I examined it closely and it looked about 10 inches long. I tried it out so I swished it. It ended up as a small explosion setting a vase on fire. Olivander talked to himself trying to find another wand.
"Here this one is longer since you're a tall girl" he said. He handed it to me and I felt shiver go down my spine.
"Swish it" Olivander said with curiosity. I did as he said toward a pile of paper. This time I didn't set anything on fire. Instead the papers danced and shuffled themselves. I gave a yup-this-is-the-one face. It was vine with a dragon core thirteen inches, quite flexible. My father who stood behind me patted my back. We made the purchase and left.
I was ready to go home, but my dad stopped me. He didn't tell me where we were going at first until we got to pet shop. I gave a questioning look.
"Choose what you want I'll buy it for you" my eyes widened in surprise. I gave a smile and jumped on him. I hugged him tightly. We entered the store and my smile spread wider than it already was. I saw all types of cats and toads. I even saw rats! I kept looking around to see what should I choose when my eyes landed on a beautiful small white owl. There were light shades of brown and gray on its wings and his eyes were big and yellow.
"Do you want that one?" my dad asked behind me. I nodded my head slowly still stunned by the beauty of the owl. We got the owl and got it a nice spacy cage. I thanked my dad so many times because I truly was grateful.
We headed it out and met up with my mom and Tate. Tate when crazy when he saw the owl and I couldn't blame him. Tate and I decided to name him Ash because he had a somewhat shade of gray.
Tate got suspicious on what I bought so I had to hide my stuff from him so he wouldn't figure anything out. It was hard not telling him anything. I guess I was too excited about it I wanted to tell the whole world. Still Tate was not ready to know any of this.
We didn't stay much longer. We headed back home when we finished dinner. These past two days were really eventful but I would never change them or wish for anything different. The sun was already starting to set and all I could think about was about this new opportunity.
We finally made it home and as soon as we got there I decided to love home for now because I'll be gone for a long while. I lay my back on my soft bed and let out a sigh. My parents soon after enter my room and I suspect they want to talk about all this new stuff.
"Honey we need to get you more familiar with wizarding world" my dad said as he sat on one end of my bed.
"We need to talk to you about a boy named Harry Potter and how he made a difference in both wizard and muggle worlds" my mom said next to me and a chill went down my spine.
My parents told me the story about Harry Potter and how he survived the Dark lord. The dark lord. My parents were somewhat scared saying his name and I couldn't blame them. Everyone fears him. Voldemort. His name is as nasty as his personality. A child stopped him. Something impossible, but yet it stilled happened.
My parents told me there would be big chance that I would go to school with Harry and get sorted into Gryffindor. I wouldn't mind him, but at the moment I feel pity towards him to go through such awful things. With all honesty I was now even more excited with being friends with the boy-who-lived.
