'We were the best of friends. His parents got divorced, he moved, and I never saw him again. I won't forget him though. I could never forget him.'
Tyler thought as he walked down the street. He was lost in his own thoughts. He looked at the sidewalk not much paying attention to where he was going. He ran into someone and looked up.
"Sorry..."
"Don't worry about it"
He looked at who he had run into. They didn't look familiar, but something about them was...off. The other person gave a small wave and continued walking without another word. Tyler shook his head and started to walk again. He continued to walk until he came upon his house. He walked inside and went to bed, tired from a long day. He wondered about the other boy on the street, but didn't want to think at that moment. He went to bed.
The next morning he got up and dressed. He ate a quick breakfast and headed off to his part-time job as a gas station cashier. He drove his car to work, walking inside and taking his place behind the counter. The gas station wasn't a superbly popular one, and so they were never really busy. He looked around, yawning a bit. He took out a book and started to read when he heard the door open. He looked up, surprised to see the person he ran into yesterday. The person walked inside, going around and grabbing various snacks.
Tyler went back to his book, trying not to seem too creepy. He set it down once the person was done grabbing what they wanted. He set the book aside and started to scan the items, bringing up a total.
"That will be 11.75"
The person nodded and took out his wallet, throwing down 12 dollars. Tyler took the money, putting it in the register and getting the change. He bagged up the items and handed the bags and change to the other person. The other chuckled.
"You know, I had a childhood friend named Tyler. For some odd reason...you remind me of him." He smiled and took the stuff, walking out to his car.
Tyler watched as the other person left. He seemed off from the first sight of him, but now... Tyler's mind was spinning. That's what it was! That person reminded him of Jack. Of course this person was much older, and only slightly resembling Tyler's childhood friend. He chuckled lightly to himself. No..it couldn't be. It's just a coincidence. He continued on with his shift.
After his shift was over, Tyler walked out to his car. He got in and went to his house, going inside. He yawned, changing into some pajamas. He plopped down on the couch and turned on the T.V. He was tired but didn't want to go to bed just yet.
