I was crying.
I was at the tombstone...for one of the people I love most in the world.
My mom.
It's all my fault.
Flashback:
I called my mom, it was her birthday.
"Hey mom, happy birthday to the most beautifulest women on the planet, " I smiled.
"Aweeeee thanks sweetie," She laughed.
"So how was your date with Jimmy?" I asked, as I got a glass of water.
"Really good, we are going back home actually, you should come over to our house, we are opening presents," She squealed like a child.
"Sounds great mom, hope you had the best day of your life. I love you," I said.
"I love you too darling-" but suddenly, I heard tires screeching, and a giant crashing sound, and the line went dead.
"Mom? Mom? Mom?!" I screamed.
End of Flash Back
I continued crying, at my mother's tomb.
It read: Loving Wife, Mom, and Grandma.
My mom had been hit first since she was driving. Jimmy on the other hand, just ended up with a broken arm.
The driver who hit their car was drunk, and escaped without a scratch, but will have to go to jail.
I felt a arm go on my shoulder and it was Gabs.
She had grown fond of my mother, and had became really close friends with her.
Hayley, my 3 year old, was crying too.
"Grandma," She cried, hugging my leg.
"I know sweetie...b-but she will b-be taking care of us from the heavens," I managed to say.
She just nodded, and buried her head closer on my leg.
Hayley was beautiful. She reminded me of that bastard.
Of Luke.
She had dirty blonde just like Luke's, which was waist length, his eyes, his sharp nose, and his lankiness.
But she had some qualities of mine, she had my skin color, my lips, my long and thick eyelashes, and a outgoing personality.
We stayed for quite a while.
I woke up from the memory, my mom had passed away a year ago. But I'm moved on, my mom was there for me and she taught me to move on from painful memories.
I eventually got the courage to get up and leave.
I was riding with Gabs.
It was late, and Hayley was asleep on my lap.
Since I didn't have a car, I had to hitch a ride.
I moved a strand of Hayley's hair away from her face, and behind her ear.
I sighed.
Tomorrow I have to go and work in two separate jobs.
First job: working at Starbucks, and my second job is currently serving food at a restaurant.
You see, being a single parent, I just want my daughter to have a good childhood.
But rent at the apartment we live in is so cost full.
We barely manage to get our meals everyday. And I'm really behind on the bills. I'm worried that one day the landlord will kick us out onto the streets.
But at least I have my reason to continue.
I looked down at Hayley's peaceful sound asleep face.
"It's ok Janet, I'm here for you," Gabs said.
Gabs had stopped talking to her rich family, and doesn't live with them anymore.
She had her own house, and she works at the same restaurant as I do. She gets paid more since she works full time.
But for me I can't work full time since I have to pick up Hayley from her school every single day.
"I hope it does get better Gabs, I hope it does," I sighed.
