Gabs dropped us off at Matt's house and I had to cover Hayley with my jacket so the rain wouldn't shower her.

I knocked furiously on the door.

And the moment he opened the door, it stopped raining.

"Seriously," I chuckled.

"Hey," Matt said, as Hayley hugged Matt's leg.

"Can we come in?" I asked.

"You can come anytime you want," He laughed, making me roll my eyes as we entered.

"Do you have something warm I can change into?" I asked, shivering as Hayley went to play with Burnie, Matt's dog.

He nodded, as he went to grab clothes.

I got up.

Sometimes we stayed over at Matt's place, me and Hayley would sleep in the guest room.

I grabbed Hayley's backpack, and went to grab her lunch box, when a card fell out.

Inside was a letter, no return address, just saying Luke, at the top, it was just a letter directed to me.

There was a date that was from the day I had left Luke's house.

I remembered taking in the mail, but placing it in a box and stashing them in my room, in the closet, to never be found again.

I was about to open it, when Burnie jumped and grabbed the letter.

"BURNIE NO!" I shouted.

But it was to late, he grabbed the letter in his teeth and teared it to shreds.

I fell to the ground, scrambling to get the little pieces but it was useless, they were to small to put together.

"What's wrong? I heard shouting," Matt said, walking over to me, and extending a hand to help me up.

Tears where streaming down my face.

Memories flooding my vision.

"It was a letter...from...from Luke," I struggled to say.

Matt's body tensed, but as my body shook, he rubbed my back.

"Mommy? What's wrong?" Hayley said, walking over to me, "You didn't even cry when you skinned your knee."

"Nothing's wrong Lili," I said, drying my tears, and smiling down at her.

She was frowning but then smiled, and walked off towards Burnie.

Matt handed me some clothes, and I walked towards the bathroom to change.

***

I was dreaming.

I know I was.

Because I was walking down the aisle of a church.

I was looked forward and saw Luke, looking the same as he had that day.

Once I walked up to him the priest was saying his words, when he got to the important part.

"Now do you, Janet Johnson take Luke Robert Hemmings as you lawful and wedded husband?" He asked.

"I do," I smiled at him.

"Now do you, Luke Robert Hemmings, take Janet Johnson as your lawful wedded bride?" He asked.

Luke turned to me, placing a warm hand on my cheek.

It felt so real.

Maybe I wasn't dreaming, maybe my life so far has all just been a pigment of my imagination, and this was reality.

"No," He said.

My jaw dropped down slightly, the whole crowd whispering.

"What? What do you mean?" I asked.

Luke laughed.

"If I did love you, I would have stayed," He said, throwing his wedding ring on the floor as he ran towards the exit. But before he left, he turned to me, "DON'T FORGET! NOTHING LASTS FOREVER!" He shouted as the door slammed behind him.

I woke up, sweating and breathing frantically.

I turned to Hayley, she was sound asleep, clutching her stuffed animal wolf.

My hands rolled into fists.

Fuck. You. Luke Hemmings.
