A/N: Hayley is in the picture to the side.

"I got the job," I said, as me and Gabs went to pick up Hayley.

"Yassss bitch, see I told you, you could do it," She smiled, turning a corner.

"So who's the owner of the company anyways?" I asked, getting more relaxed on the chair.

"I actually don't know, but one of my friends from my old job told me about it. Oh and by the way, I called your old jobs and told them they can suck it, because their jobs are crusty and you have a better one now," She smiled brightly.

"But now I won't get my final check," I pouted.

"Don't worry," She said, taking out two envelopes that had my checks.

"Have I told you how much I love you?" I asked.

"Yep, and I know...I'm the best," She said, flipping her hair, as she pulled into Hayley's school parking lot.

God I'm so relieved, I'll be making more money here, enough to pay for more doctor visits, food, clothes, and gifts for Hayley.

In the past few years I haven't been able to get Hayley anything really because of all how fallen behind the rent I've gotten.

Gabs always bought her gifts saying it was from me and her.

I'm feeling like I'm failing as a mother.

I exited the car, and headed towards the building, where parents were entering and exiting the school.

I entered and saw Hayley coloring with another girl.

Today was picture day, and she decided to wear her white lace dress.

"Hi Lili," (pronounced Lee Lee)

"Hi mommy, look what I drew," She said showing me a drawing of us and Matt.

The words My Family, written at the top.

I haven't been able to tell her, that Matt isn't her real father.

She doesn't understand.

And I don't want to break her, telling her that she won't ever see her real father.

"If your dad has brown hair, and your mom does too...how do you have blonde hair and blue eyes?" The girl next to her said, she was maybe a year older than Hayley.

My eyes widened, as I turned to Hayley.

She just shrugged and got her backpack, handing me her drawing.

I have to admit she drew much better than a 3 year old should.

Her birthday is coming up soon and I heard her wishing for a art kit, and I think I'll be able to afford to buy her one.

I picked up Hayley, and carried her, as I said goodbye to her teacher.

"Can we go see daddy?" I heard Hayley say.

I cringed.

"Yes sweetie," I sighed.

"Yay," She shouted jumping off my arms and rushing to get in the car.

Gabs turned to me, she obviously heard the conversation.

I looked away from her, and just looked out the window.

It has began to rain.
