Melissa started into the dark where Alan had vanished before she turned and walked back to her house. Melissa climbed back up to her window and sat on the roof looking at the stars above her. Melissa sighed and then climbed back into her room and drifted off to a land of dreams in her warm bed.

Not long after Melissa fell asleep a dark figure entered her room through the unlocked window. The figure walked up to her and gently stroked her cheek. The figure stood up and placed the rose from Alan in a crystal water filled vase and set it on Melissa's dresser. The figure took a small note and put it next to the vase. He looked back at Melissa and then vanished into the night.

Melissa's red alarm clock began to ring loudly and woke her from her deep sleep. She sat straight up and ran around her room to get ready for school. Her white pleat jabot blouse was tucked into her favorite dark blue circle skirt. As Melissa moved across the room to find her pair of red babydoll shoes she noticed the vase and the note next to it. Picking up the note, she read it aloud.

"I know who you are and where you live Melissa. You don't know me, but I will be the end of you. Keep your eyes open, enjoy your last day." Melissa stifled a scream as the words she had just read registered with her. Melissa dropped the note into a small trash can in her room. She decided to ignore the note. She shrugged off the note as a prank from her brother Tyler. She grabbed her shoes and made her way through the cream and cranberry hallway. The smell of crisp crunchy bacon hit her nose. Melissa walked into the family room where she sat down on the charcoal colored wing back chair. Melissa slipped on her shoes and adjusted her curly golden hair that fell to her thin shoulders.

"Melissa, breakfast." Her mother called from the kitchen. Melissa had the same slender built as her mother and the same green eyes. "Melissa can you go get your brother please? I don't want him to be late today." Mrs. McCollum said as she whipped her thin hands on her light blue apron.

"Sure Mom, breakfast smells delicious by the way." Melissa said before she grabbed a slice of bacon and bounced upstairs to wake up her older brother Tyler.

"TYLER! TIME TO GET UP!!" Melissa yelled as she pounded on her brother's door. Melissa smiled in satisfaction when she heard her brother fall out of his bed and land on the floor in his room with an oof. "Mom says breakfast is ready too." Melissa added polity before she flounced back down stairs. Two minutes later a very groggy Tyler stumbled his way down the stairs and into the kitchen.  Tyler had the same dirty blonde hair as his sister and stunning blue eyes. "Come on Tyler it's time to go, you can eat on the way to school." Melissa said as she tried to push him out the door.

Melissa steps out into the chilly October morning air and began walking down the street to the bus stop. When she got to the bus stop she noticed a small note the was similar to the one that was in her room this morning.

This isn't a joke. Melissa read the note in her head. Who could be after me? Melissa worried as she waited for the bus to come.

Melissa went about her day at school; she wasn't really paying attention and before she knew it the school day was over.

"Hey Melissa." Tyler called after her as he ran up to catcher her before she got on the bus. "I have football practice, and mom went over to Aunt Judy's house for the day so you'll be home alone. I've gotta go, see you later sis." He said in one breath before speeding off to catch up with his friends from the team. Melissa swallowed her fear and got on the old school bus and she was home in no time.

A/N: Hope you liked this chapter. The picture at the top is what I think Tyler would look like.  Sorry the chapter is short. I will be updating as soon as I can.
