Carmilla came back to the dorm around 2 hours later, she was a little dishevelled—hair poking out in all different directions and eye liner was smudged—her jacket ripped slightly on the right sleeve, she tore it off and plopped herself down on her bed.

Your typing slowly comes to a stop when you realize that you should probably say something, even though you have no idea what to say. When you swivel your office chair around you see her with both hands clasped over her eyes, probably blocking the intense ceiling light, you got Kirsh to change it the other day and it has been a little too bright ever since.

"Did you get mauled by something?" You see the corners of Carmilla's mouth turn upwards, "I mean, I know the campus is a little bit... freaky, for lack of a better word."

"Creampuff, can you possibly shut up," She started to get up—still shielding her eyes from your view—and proceeded to limp to the bathroom. The door closed and locked not a moment later, you turn back to the open word document on your computer.

A hiss comes faintly from behind the bathroom door.

"Urgh," You save the document, moving the subject to the back of your brain so you can continue it later tonight. You walk over to the bathroom door, the faint splashing of running water piercing through the door. "Carm?" You knock twice.

Nothing. You go to knock again but you're fist meets air as the door is opened just before you can make contact with it.

"Worried about me, cutie?"

"No..." She brushes pass you and walks to the freezer, grabbing two of the ice packs from it. You sit back down at your desk, eyeing the webcam with a 'can you believe this chick' face, before getting disrupted by the cold sensation on your ribs.

Carmilla hands the other ice pack to you before crouching down and toying with the edges of the tank top you are currently wearing. You scrunch up the ice pack and press it against a temple, alleviating some of the pain there.

"Is it okay..." She drags off, eyeing you and then eyeing your top.

You nod your head in response, not trusting your voice. Her cold fingers crept under the fabric of your shirt ever so delicately. You jump a little, not expecting the coldness. Carmilla sends a worried face up to you, wondering if she hurt you in anyway.

"I-I'm fine..."

She subtlety nods and continues on, pressing the cold pack to your bruised ribs. She fiddles around a little more, poking and prodding just like Laf and Perry had both done, but you never got that feeling of a good friend helping you out when Carmilla did it.

You memorize every little detail, from how her fingers felt against your skin to how she would exchange looks with you when you flinched in pain.

God, you wished she would look at you like that every day. With so much care and loved packed into brunette orbs.

"Cupcake?" You realize that she's now moved from the floor and has since placed a hand on your shoulder, moving her head down so she eye level.

"Huh... sorry, what?"

"I said, I think you'll live. But I'm not going to let you go to classes alone," a beat passes between the two of you, and you secretly hope that she's going to propose that she comes with you.

"Which is why we're going to buddy up."

"Okay, not that that isn't a good idea, but I don't take philosophy..." She ponders for a moment.

"Well, I'm sure they won't miss me. Anyway," she grabs her leather backpack from her bed, and puts on her, now ripped, leather jacket, "we can't have you wandering around the university when it's probably not safe to do so."

"Oh yeah, and what are you going to do? Stare down the bad guys?"

"Hey! I'm quite intimidating when I need to be," you stand up and grab the light grey hoodie she's handing you; you zip it up and take the books from your bed.

"I'm sure you are." She fakes a growl at you before heading out the door of your dorm room.

Oh yeah, she's totally going to be the death of you.

A/N: Holy crap it's been long. Writer's block came and took me away... I finally escaped. :) So now I'm slowly getting back into writing, and also need to get the groove back for each story. But I'll get there. Enjoy the short chapter xD
