Gently folding the letter back up I place it back inside the book. Standing up, I make my way towards the garage. Might as well see if it is true, right?
Grabbing a shovel I make my way to the end of the garden, and then start to dig. 5 minutes later I wipe the sweat off of my forehead, god that was hard work. I stopped because I hit something with my shovel. Getting down on my hands and knees I begin to dig the rest of the dirt away. Taking the metal box out of the hole I have created I wipe off the dirt and unclip the lock.
Opening the lid tucked neatly inside is an old journal. Pulling it out I see that the edges are burnt and the paper is wrinkled, it must have been used a lot. Turning the page unknown words are in scripted onto the page. "What language is this?" I quietly mutter to myself.
"So I see you have found the book" a voice sound from behind me. Jumping up I clutch my chest, turning around I see Jordan stood there with a wide grin on his face "god you scared the shit out of me" I say taking deep breaths trying to calm my heart rate down.
"Well I told you I would come back again didn't I" he says taking the book out of my hands. "How do I know if I can trust you?" I ask slightly curious. Lifting his head up, he locks his eyes with mine before saying "I told you the truth didn't i. And if you cant trust me who can you trust".
Shaking my head I try to get rid of the butterflies that are filling my stomach, you can not like him Melody, you barely know him. "Okay then. Do you know the language that the book is written in?" I ask. "Well it is written in elvish. That is the language that witches write their spells in, so that other people will struggle to read it. You know if they are not a witch or warlock. If your mum would have been here, you would have been brought up to speak it" he finishes, sitting down on the grass beside me.
"Would you like me to teach you some of the spells and what to translate them to?"He casually asks, "Okay" I reply.
