Once upon a time, there was a brave soldier and prince named after his father. He was feared by many, and loved by all. He was pure of heart. Until the dread full day. The day he saw with his very own eyes, his kingdom, his people, his family, and his planet, destroyed. He was in his training attire ready to take on the day. When his father called him down. Vegeta walked into the throne room with his head high. And that's where our story begins...
"Father, you look like hell. What's the matter?"
Vegeta said."I don't appreciate your language. Your only nine." The king said.
"Stop avoiding the question, Father. What's wrong?"
"Frieza has insisted that your come to his ship to finish your training for the day."
"When must I go?"
"Now if you like."
"Your avoiding my question again!"
"By sunbreak."
"I'll see you when I get back, Father."
"Wait! Vegeta, son, I want you to know your mother a and I have always loved you and your brother."
Vegeta turned back smiling and offered a hug. It was accepted.
"Why must you act like this every time I go to the ship, Father?" Vegeta asked still holding his father.
"Each day, dealing with that monster, could be our last. And I want you to know no matter what happens, that I will always love you, my first born." The king said squeezing his son tighter.
After a few more seconds, they released each other and made eye contact. The King always had a touching moment with his son each time he left the planet to go on Frieza's ship. But somehow he just knew that this time Vegeta would not be coming back.
It was on that faithfully day that the king retaliated against Frieza. But it didn't end well. Though the Sayians caused some damage it was nowhere near enough to defeat Frieza. The King died that day with a beam to the heart. But all he could think about was that both of his boys were safe.
