Chapter 5.

I'd by lying if I said I knew what a press junket is up until today.

Luckily I do now, but I kinda wish I didn't.

Basically, it's all for show promotion, before it even airs. There's going to be a lot of interviews, photoshoots, advertising...You name it.

And I'm smack in the middle of it, along with my fifteen fellow contestants. I literally feel like I'm in the middle of a storm right now, as five different people poke and prod at my face as I sit on a chair in the dressing room I'm sharing with half of the girls.

Amity has been placed beside me, and the two of us share constant startled looks when we can. I can't have a conversation though, because my lips are busy being glossed, and my faced is being contoured and powdered to reduce the shine from my skin.

And I thought the makeup that Hollie did on me back home was extreme. How wrong was I?

Calypso is on the other side of me, and I notice that she has a permeant grimace on her face as her makeup artists gush about how gorgeous she is. I wonder what's up with that...

"Pout a little."

"Look up!"

"Don't move!"

I spend the next thirty minutes being constantly bombarded by these instructions, and I feel as though I'm about to explode from pure concentration, when the prodding and commands subsides.

I'm left in peace.

"Finally..." Amity sighs, "I thought we'd be stuck here for years!"

Calypso looks up, "Don't worry, next up is wardrobe, they're not done with us yet."

I turn to face Calypso, focusing on her expression, "Are you alright? No offence...But you looked like you were in pain the whole time."

"Tell me about it." She groans, "I hate my talent sometimes, especially in environments like this. Everyone is so fake, and when you know that every word you say is a lie...Well, it doesn't exactly improve your mood."

"Yikes." Amity replies, "I can see why that would be a buzz kill."

"Totally, but it's OK. I just have to deal with it, every talent comes with a price, I suppose." Calypso concludes.

Kalliope and Maddy are the other two girls in the room, and they both nod in agreement.

The doorknob twists again and we all share a look.

"Right, let's get back into it!" Maddy announces, before our stylists flood into the room to finish off our looks.

And that is how the next hour goes, I try on a multitude of dresses, shoes and accessories, as my stylist throws something to me to try on before I've even taken the other garment off!

Eventually my stylist settles on something she deems, 'suitable' and I'm finally finished.

My final dress is honestly, a stunning piece of art. That;s something I love about fashion, it is an art form, and I can see the hours that went into my dress. It has a silver lace overlay, with small cap sleeves and a fitted eggshell bodice underneath. The blue comes out into a full skirt, which falls just below my knees in lace finished waves. Simple gold heels have been strapped to my feet, I hold a light metallic clutch and my pale hair has been styled into a low bun.
