My Rogue

Chapter 23

/Alex/
Arriving home at night we go straight to bed. I lay there awake thinking about all this mess, I'm in. What to do to protect my loved one's, especially my mate. But then I wonder what benefits everyone or just forget about everything.

I think about if I kill Alpha Robert history might repeat itself. And if I go to war with Alpha Robert, other Alpha's will see me as a bigger threat than just a crazy rogue. Then William, Maxwell, Mason, and Dylan might get involved and I don't want anybody to get hurt because of me.

But I just have to think what's right for everyone.

/Alpha Maxwell/
I was in my office working on paper work when my Beta, Erick came bursting in through the door. "Alpha we got a problem." he says quickly. Standing up, I walk fast outside to see what's the problem.

A black wolf is surrounded by my perimeter guards of my pack, on my side of the boundary line. Looking better at the wolf I recognize him, "Stop he's a friend!" I say stopping anything that can lead to a fight. When my pack wolves step away from him he nods and looks back. I wait and see a girl about Alex's age comes out from behind a tree revealing herself.

I step toward and say "Welcome to White Fang Pack, I'm Alpha Maxwell, its been a long time." She smiles and says "Hi, Max its been too long." .

-----1 month later----

/Mason/
I can't believe that a month has passed from when me and Alex went to the White Fang Pack. We visited Alex's old house then we came home, but then Maxwell had visitors. Alpha Dylan's daughter, Sophia and her mate, Drake; they had gotten here and everyone knew about Dylan hiding his daughter all this time.

When Alex saw Sophia she started crying they hugged each other tightly and didn't want to let go of each other. When they calmed down they left to catch up for lost time.

After that Alex would only talk about the war with them, I could see the stress the war was doing to her. But the good thing about all of this mess was that Alex and me finally marked and mated, but these couple of days Alex has been acting strange like when someone's hiding something.

I have to find out soon.

/Alex/
"Hi, Maxwell is everything ready?" I ask him through the phone about the war, its tomorrow. "Hello, Alex and yes everything is ready you can't be stressing." He tells me. "Max, you know how I just want this to end." I say tired of all the mess that me and Alpha Dylan have caused trying to protect a life.
"Alex does he know?" Max asks me with curiosity to what my answer is. "No, I haven't told him."I tell him, I hear him sigh through the phone. "Alex, you have to tell him and not just one, both of them." He says trying to change my mind. "I don't know Max I'll have to think about it." I say wanting this conversation over. "Okay, Alex bye." He says defeated and I just reply "Bye". What I didn't expect was for Mason to be near hearing everything.

"Mason, I can explain." I say quickly, but with the hurt look he has I don't know if this will end good. "Alex, what are you hiding from me? We agreed no more secrets." He says and I respond "I know its that I- you won't like it and you might get mad at me." The look of his face makes me feel more guilty than I already feel.

"How can you think that if you haven't even given me the choice of knowing, so you can't know how I'm going to react." He says furious, but you could see the sadness in his eyes. "Mason, I'm sorry its just with the wasr coming and having yo watch out for everyone's safety, especially yours." I try to reason with him, but he just responds "Alex, you can't take everyone's safety as your responsibility I love you so much, but if you keep doing that, all that stress could kill you. Its enough that u have to be careful with Dylan-". When hr says that I cut him off asking "What about Dylan?".

He looks at me for a minute and says "Last time he wanted to take you away, I'm not going g to let him." I look at him and smile "Mason, Dylan wanted to take me as his mate if that is what you think. Dylan got obsessed with having me in his pack, because he thought that if I was there Sophia would be safe to come home. He just lost sight of our mission to protect her no matter what happened to us." I fish saying realizing how Mason would feel if that were to happen.

Mason stops to think then realizes what I said "Forget about that mission, you have to protect yourself I wouldn't be able to live without you." he says. I smile and say " I love you." "I love you, too." he replies.

"Mason, you know I'm going to fight tomorrow?" I ask carefully. "I can't stop you, but what about it." He asks clueless. I prepare for his reaction. "I'm going to be fighting Alpha Robert." I say. I wait for his reaction, but hear silence. I look up at him, I'm going to ask him what's wrong but get stopped. "Alex, I know I can't stop you doing what you think is right just come back safely to me." He says.

I'm shock at his reaction so calm; I quickly wrap my arms around him and he quickly wraps his arms around me. "I love you." I say to hear him reply " I love you, too." I just hope he likes my other secret.

Sorry for not updating on Friday I got sick so I couldn't and I'm still sick but feel better today. I hope you guys like it, the end is really close. And also check out my new book called "Choose Sides".
