A girl the same age as Skylar and Dezz started walking home from school, not her school but their rivalry school for the time being. She blond hair that dropped down to her torso and bright blue eyes that shined like a crystal in the sunlight. Arms folded around some books she had just picked up from the library she walked past a tall tan brick building. She knew some of her fellow students were currently there being treated from the schools random collapse last Saturday during detention.

Amanda was her name, a very pretty girl that most students knew. If she would of let it happen she would be a very popular girl at school but she denied the offer keeping up on her school work and avidly reading many novels. She did go to sports events within the school, wanting to still participate in the activities and be a total bookworm. Her peers had a hard time figuring her out, what she wanted them all to class her as. She didn't care what they said though, it was a silly game to her that she didn't want a part of, Though she seemed quiet to the others if anyone got to know her better they found out she is rough and isn't afraid to show it when needed to.

Walking home was a little journey, not the usual short walk in the park from her normal school. The night she got reassigned to the school she came up with the best route home avoiding as much traffic as possible having to go through the city part of town. Amanda lived in a little neighborhood away from the city where everyone knew each other by name.

Walking by the hospital made her think of Skylar Calom, her next door neighbor, one of the victims in the collapse of the school. She hadn't talked to Skylar much before because she actually liked him and was scared to talk to him. The most he heard of her was answering questions in class. If she saw him outside in his yard, when she was out at the same time, she would turn around and act like she hadn't noticed him working outside. She didn't think he payed much attention to her at all though, probably just thought she was just another student at school going to class and doing homework.

She knew Skylar was in the collapse, he had detention. Amanda was in his class when the teacher called him out in the middle of class. She had the urge to go visit him during his recovery but that would be awkward, he didn't even know she existed. She had watched his best friend, Dezz, head right out the door when the bell rang at school to go check up on him for the second time since he heard Skylar was doing well in recovery. Dezz had noticed her a few times and but wished he would of asked her to join him to go see Skylar. She also knew that the bully named Brent was in there with him probably planning his next bully act while in recovery, if he wasn't out already because of how strong he usually played in football.

She rounded a corner causing the hospital to become out of view of her eyesight. Walking the rest of the way home was faster than the first half of her walk, not staring at the hospital letting her thoughts travel to another distance. Once arriving at her home she stopped at the front steps. She gazed at her house, the red and tan brick structure towering above her. She knew she would go through the usual, homework, dinner, maybe some lolly gagging, and then off to bed to repeat once again. In the back of her head she always wished something would change, something to spice up her day, but it felt like everyday was on repeat and wouldn't continue on to a new chapter. Walking the front door she hung her backpack up on a wooden hook next to the entry way. She heard a cry come from the distance and instantly responded back to it.

¨It's me gran!¨ she hollered back. Walking deeper into her home she rounded a corner to see her grandma sitting in her usual seat working on a quilt for the many people she thought of at all times.

¨Oh hello dear, how was school today. Make it through that busy street with minimal trouble?¨ her grandmother started asking. Amanda pulled out a seat next to her grandma to sit next to her.
