Chapter 9: The Adoption

Claire's POV

Ms Hannigan has just announced that Taylor will be back to collect her chosen child in three days, and my stomach is in knots. What if she chooses me and I have to leave Sophie? Or what if it's Sophie and I'm left behind? Or what if it's both of us? Or what if it isn't either of us? Oh god, I'm freaking out over nothing. 

*3 days later*
Taylor's POV

Today is the day! I am currently in my limousine heading towards Ms Hannigan's Home for Girls, to pick up Claire and Sophie- who have no idea about this. It's exciting.

~Arriving at the orphanage~

I arrive at the orphanage and go straight to Ms Hannigan, who directs me to Claire's room. I burst in screaming "PACK YOUR BAGS CLAIRE, YOU'VE BEEN ADOPTED!". Judging by the look on her face, she is shocked, which is a good thing! "OMG IS THIS HAPPENING? I'VE BEEN ADOPTED BY MY IDOL!" She grabs my arms and pulls me into a back-breaking hug. I hug her back, and tell her "Pack your bags, sweetie. I have something else to do, so I'll meet you back in Ms Hannigan's office." 

I head back into Ms Hannigan's office to ask for Sophie's room. She directs me, and I burst into the room, only to be surrounded by at least 10 girls, screaming and asking for autographs. I ask for Sophie and a shy girl pushes her way towards me from the back of the herd. "Hey Sophie! Pack your bags, you've been adopted sweetie. Say goodbye to your friends, and get their numbers, if they have a cell phone that is. I'll meet you back in Ms Hannigan's office". She has the same reaction as Claire had, but only bigger. "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!" 

*Flash forward to when Claire goes down to Ms Hannigan's office*
Claire's POV

I am waiting in the office for Taylor to get back. I hear the door open and I turn around, expecting Ms Hannigan or Taylor to come in. When I see who it is, my eyes nearly pop out of my head. "Sophie?! Taylor adopted you too?!", and judging by her look, she was surprised to hear that I had been adopted too. "Yeah, Taylor adopted me too. But what I really can't believe is that she adopted you too, WHICH MEANS WE GET TO STAY TOGETHER!" 

I picked Sophie up and twirled around with her. Even though she is 10 years old, she is very light for her age. But to my luck, just as I was putting her down, Taylor and Ms Hannigan walked into the room. I asked about our electronics, and Ms Hannigan handed them back to us. We thanked her for everything she has done for us, and headed out the door into our new lives. Claire and Sophie Swift, formerly Claire and Sophie Parker. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us
