Hiccup groaned as felt the sides of his head hurt. He clutched his head and realized that the surface he was lying on was rather soft. He could hear nervous whispering around him as he opened his eyes slowly. His mother was watching him intently with misty eyes. She gave him a smile as he looked around. He was in the nurse quarters of the castle . A dozen nervous and scared faces were peering at him. A few familiar faces were also present, besides his mother. Tuffnut and ruffnut were gazing anxiously at him. So was Kai, the royal butler. Snotlout, for the first time since he had known him, actually seemed concerned for him. Hiccup managed a chuckle , as he taunted snotlout." Awww does the big bad viking have a soft side for wettle hiccup? " Snotlout regained his arrogant stance as he retorted " No rock head, I didn't want the chief to get injured. I am in no mood to manage a viking settlement right now. " .Hiccup groaned as he got off the bed "Who said you'd be running it in case something happened to me.".He scanned the area and noticed that only two vikings were missing. "Mom, where's Gobber and Merida?" . Valka looked at him anxiously as she replied. "They've gone out with the search parties to look for Anna. We found you and toothless unconcious in the east valley. Thanks to Angus, we were able to track toothless down and you were there as well. But the the poor girl wasn't. Was she with you ,hiccup?" . Hiccup's eyes widened in shock as he remembered Anna's frightened face. " Oh no...Yeah. She insisted on coming with me the other night as I got up to go flying. I...I have to get back out there and find her. Where's toothless?." . Valka caught his arm as he tried to rush past them. "Hiccup. .. Toothless's tail wing prosthesis is completely burnt....and you've been out cold for three days son." .Hiccup's heart sank. Anna had been suffering for three days and probably suffering right now as they spoke. He had to find Elsa. He had to go out and look for Anna.He wriggled out of their grasp and sprinted out "Hiccup! Don't !!" . He ignored them as he bolted up the hallways to the watch tower. He could see Elsa's figure up there ,alone. He noticed that the air was chilly and almost slipped on ice on the ground. Regaining his balance, he looked around to see the whole land covered in snow again. No. He had to stop this. He had caused this. He shouldn't have let Anna tag along with him. "Elsa!" He called to his wife as he reached up the tower. She turned around, her eyes were red with tears. She ran at him and hugged him tightly and cried into his shoulder. It pained him to see her like that. "A-Anna's. ...Anna's nowhere to be found...it - it's been three days Hic - hiccup. Where could she be? I thought you were gone from me. I feared I would lose the both of you ..." . "Hey. Hey . It's okay. I'm here now. "she kissed him full on the mouth before she tried to regain her composure. "Wha-what happened? Kristoff said that she last told him that she was going to spy on us.". She stammered. Hiccup nodded and recounted what had happened on that night. She gasped at the end of it and slapped Hiccup lightly across the face."I needed that." ,he mumbled. "Why didn't you say no to her hiccup?! And what were you doing outside at that hour in the first place ?" . Hiccup whined "you know what she's like Elsa. And I was going out on my own. The idea of that island kept bugging me ..I couldn't sleep. She insisted on tagging along. I'm sorry. I...I really am...I didn't want this to happen. I tried my best to save her. " .Elsa hugged him as he got misty eyed slightly. He had gone through the pain of his father dying and he blamed it on himself. He didn't want another person dear to him suffer due to his actions. Elsa kissed him and then regained her composure as she asked. "Who-who was the attacker? Did you see?" . Hiccup shook his head , looking down "It was nothing like I've seen before. The person was wearing a black mask on their face and had a hood over their head. It could be a female, judging from the eyes. They were a bright green. " Elsa nodded. She got up" well. Take rest now. Me and kristoff will lead lead a search party out after he returns. Hiccup began " but i--" . Elsa cut him off " I insist ,hiccup. Please. " . Hiccup nodded reluctantly. Elsa took in a deep breath and walked downstairs to change her royal attire to to a more travel friendly one. She gave hiccup one last look before she dissapeared. Hiccup groaned loudly and cupped his face in his hands. "Hiccup!" Hiccup looked up to see the fuzzy little snowman run up to him. "I heard you and Anna were attacked . How have you been?" He exclaimed oblivious to the gravity of the situation. Hiccup shook his head and asked "Olaf , what are you doing here?". "I've been appointed to keep a watch over you by Elsa and to make sure that you don't do anything which might be well......a hiccup..." Olaf giggled innocently at his pun. Hiccup smirked as an epiphany dawned on him.He grabbed Olaf up and sprinted towards the newly built dragon stable in the castle.
