So I hope you guys got feels on my last chapter. I know I did. But anyways here you go lovelies!
~*~
I was driving to Sydney's house when I got a call from Eric. Nope. You forgot me. I think before shutting off my phone. As much as I love him, he's not getting off the hook that easily. I always hated reading books where the couples made up so easily. For me, it's I suffer, you suffer. There isn't an in between. So it sucks for whoever I'm mad at. But oh well.
I pull into Sydney's driveway, and grab all my stuff before sprinting inside. It got cold. I shiver as I open the door, the warm scent of pumpkin pie greeting my nose as I kick off my shoes and yell "MOM! DAD! I'M HOME."
"Welcome back!" Sydney's mom answers from the kitchen. Sydney was adopted because of reasons I earlier stated. She had began to have problems at her old house, so when she was put into foster care at her age, it was a little difficult to find a family, but she found one and she had 2 little siblings, a boy and a girl who were twins, and an older brother who already graduated and is going to college in Florida.
I manage to set my stuff down just in time before I get attacked.
"KENZIE!" Sydney's little sister Kiara yells as she jumps into my arms.
"Hey Kiara! How was school?" I say giving her a big smile and a tight squeeze.
"It was great! Leslie and I played with blocks and dolls! Kindergarten is so much fun!" She says clearly enthusiastic. Leslie was Kiara's best friend who was always over Sydney's. I'm actually surprised she isn't here right now.
"Kenzie!" Blake, Kiara's twin brother yells before coming over and hugging me too.
"And how was your day Mister Blake?" I ask giggling.
"Fun! Tony and I played pretend and we were superheroes and we saved Kiara and Leslie from the bad guys!" Blake enthusiastically throws fake punches pretending that he's fighting the bad guys.
"Aww! Well I'm gonna go play with Sydney right now okay? I'll be over for a while!"
"Okay!" The twins chime in unison.
I walk into the kitchen where Sydney and her mom are and I'm suddenly greeted by a familiar face.
"OMG! Jake when did you get back in town!" Jake was Sydney's older brother, and he was also my long time crush. Well, before Eric. He opens his arms and envelopes me in a big bear hug.
"I just got home a couple hours ago. I meant to text Sydney but my phone was dead. I didn't know you were coming over, isn't it a school night?"
"Yeah.. About that.. Mom?" I ask Sydney's mom.
"Yes sweetie?"
"Can I stay here for a little while? Like a couple of days maybe?" I look at the ground.
She knows the drill so her reply was "Of course sweetie. You're always welcome over here."
I look up and see the sympathy in her eyes.
"Thanks ma." I say. I take a good look at her. She's about 5"3' and incredibly beautiful. She has laugh lines around her eyes and mouth and her dark brown hair falls to the middle of her back when it's down. Her blue eyes glisten and are full of curiosity, even at her age. She's very petite, and her face is almost heart shaped. Honestly she looks a lot like Sydney anyways.
My thoughts are interrupted as her dad walks into the kitchen.
"Where's Kenz? I know she's here, the kids are going crazy." He says laughing.
"I'm right here dad." I say chuckling.
He hugs me too, and I take a good look at his appearance. He scared me at first, with his big bushy brown beard and his muscles, but his personality was the complete opposite. He was kind, and he cared a lot about his family. He was like a big teddy bear.
"What brings you here?" He asks.
"She's staying with us for a couple of days." Mom states.
"Ah.. I see." He says, rubbing his beard as he processes the information. "Well Kenzie, you know that you're always welcome here." He says smiling kindly at me.
Glad I have a home somewhere.
