《Calum》

"You seriously just gave her your number?" Michael laughed, practically doubling over as we walked towards the school.

"Well," I paused, unable to reason as to why he was making such a huge deal of this. "Yeah."

"Any response, mate?" Luke added, playfully nudging at my arm. I didn't exactly want to answer that one, though. Seeing as they'd just prod at me even more. Or just keep laughing at my stupid, stupid self.

"Is that a no?" Michael mocked.

I'm about to snap back at Michael when something amazing happens. She texts me.

Unknown number:
hey.. some cashier gave me this number on the back of a receipt :)

Me:
Hm, wonder why he would do that :)

Alex :) :
Could you help me find him? He was kinda cute ;)

"Actually, Michael" I give him a smug look while showing him my screen.

"Okay, so I was wrong." He raises his hands in defeat.

I just smile at Michael and Luke and walk away from the two and towards my first class of the day.

I find myself strolling past the library after lunch, to my luck, there she was. She was sitting at the same desk, all alone. I did what any sane person would do who was currently experiencing all of the feelings at once. I walked into the library and in her direction.

"Hi," I smiled, sitting down across from her. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear. It's a shade of blonde that I can't describe. A perfect shade of blonde.

"Hey." She pulls me out of my trance with her single utterance.

"You texted" I pull my phone into view and chuckle a bit.

She lets out a little laugh, "I guess I did."

"Hey-" I start, "there's this party this weekend, do you wanna go with me?" I slightly wince in anticipation for rejection.

"Sure," she smiles to me. I relax at this answer, but then she gets up and begins to walk away. "Class," she gestures.

"Oh." I nod. A simple nod, but in reality, every part of my being is freaking out at what just happened.

"I'll text you." She finally says before leaving the library entirely. I give a thumbs up like an idiot, but thankfully nobody sees because she's gone, and the library is empty.

This is going better than I thought it would. And to think, Michael didn't believe in me.
