11 - Blossom - It's Okay

-4 months later 18th April 2022-

Buzz buzz

I groan as my phone illuminates the room. I pick it up and answer the call.
"Bloss, I think Josie is coming." Issy's panicked voice says. Josie is her baby, and yes Dan was right, again.
"Right, breath. She's fine, she's on time." I try to sooth her. Dan taps my shoulder.
"Okay... What do I do?" Issy asks.
"Baby." I say to Dan. "Stay calm and breath." I put on a top and some jeans before running to Ellie's bedroom.
"Joe won't wake up." Issy groans.
"Smack him." I laugh. I hear a smack sound from the other side of the phone. Joe groans, then realises why Issy woke him up.
"Okay, I'll wait for you to get here." Issy says.
"Okay." I go into Ellie's room and shake her awake. "We need to go to Auntie Issy's." I explain to the little girl. Dan comes into the room.
"I'll carry her." Dan offers.
"Thanks. Where are you, Issy?"
"In the lounge, why?"
"Stay comfortable and relax." I advise.
"Okay."

Half an hour later, we arrive at Issy's.
"Dan, could you stay here to look after the kids?" I ask.
"Sure." Dan smiles. He pecks my cheek before taking the sleeping Reece from my arms. I drive Issy to the hospital and the doctors take Issy straight away. We are able to be in the same room now, unlike last time. I help her get changed and watch as she lies on the bed. Issy cringes as a contraction hits her. I hold her hand and smile at her. She smiles back and leans get head back.

-6 hours later-

Issy's labour is incredibly slow. She's not even close to having 5 minutes apart contractions. I lean back in the chair and wonder why they didn't send Issy back home for a while. Then again, thinking about it, because of what happened to my when I had Reece; maybe they didn't want to chance it. I feel my phone buzz, so I pick it up.
"Hey, what's up?" I ask.
"Well, the kids are become restless and what to know where their mum is." Dan says. "Also, Joe wants updates but he's busy."
"Right, you could probably come over now as its not too early, and Issy's contractions are about eight minutes apart at the moment." I say.
"Okay. I'll be there in a bit." Dan grunt, probably picking up a kid.
"Okay, I love you." I smile.
"I love you too." Dan says before hanging up.
"The kids, Dan and Joe are coming over." I say to Issy.
"Okay." She nods. Her face crumples up in pain as another contraction rolls over her body. "That was closer to the last." I mutter.
"And more painful." Issy sighs as it subsides.
"Do you want me to get a doctor?" I ask, rubbing her shoulders.
"Nah, I need to walk a bit though." Issy's slowly gets up and stretches her back.
"Careful." I warn, stepping closer to her.
"I'm fine." Issy groans.

-Two hours later-

Joe is rubbing Issy's back while her contractions merge together. Issy murmurs something to Joe, which is inaudible to me.
"She says she feels like she need to push." Joe says to the doctor.
"Alright, sweetie, when you feel the high of your contraction, push really hard." A midwife tells her soothingly. Issy nods and groans in pain as her body tenses up. I can see her pushing. Dan rubs my back as I bite my nails. I am so nervous for some reason.
"She's okay." Dan mutters.
"I know." I sigh, leaning into his chest. Dan kisses the top of my head and rubs my back, calming me down slightly. I jump as Issy lets out a scream. I immediately rush to her side and wipe some sweat from her brow.
"Hey, you're my little sister, stop caring for me!" Issy jokes, smiling weakly.
"No can do." I grin, holing her hand.
"Fuck..." Issy whispers.
"It hurts more than the first time, doesn't it."
"Yeah." Issy sighs. She squeezes my hand as pain takes over her body.
"The heads out!" A midwife announces. Ellie is trying to see what is happening, but one of the nurses won't let her. I smile sympathetically at her when she looks at me longingly. Suddenly, Issy lets out a cry, and collapses in relief. A high pitched wail sounds and a midwife is holding a bloody baby in her arms. Joe rushes down and is able to cut the umbilical cord. I stroke my sister brow and comfort her.
"Well done, Issy." I smile.
"Thanks, Bo." She pants.

Issy is holding Josie in her arms. Joe is vlogging while Ellie, Reece and Morgan are sitting next to Issy. Reece grins as Josie laughs at him.
"What's so funny, Josie?" Issy grins.
