A Dragon's Soul(HTTYD Fanfic)

Chapter 3

Hello ppl! Chapter 3 of the HTTYD FanFic, i hope it is to your liking if not, oh well i can't change it now. So sorry for the wait Wattpad went spaz if you saw my HELP post i wrote the next chapter on my laptop cuz my tablet still spaz with chapter 4. The first POV is the POV of the Unknown girl from chapter 1 i think it is also I am going to be introducing another new character in this chapter, see i asked one of my friends if she would like to be in the book and she gave me details and everything. So this next character that i am going to be introducing into the chapter is 's character.

(Unknown POV)

After i had fled my burning Village i had sailed for what seemed like weeks, in fact it was only about a week or less that i had been out in the middle of the vast blue sea. I had been surviving on fish all that time and got food poisoning a few times as i had no way of cooking my fish properly. I was only able to at least cook them a bit in the boiling hot sun, which still wasn't enough.

Eventually I landed on a beach which was connected to rocky mountains and hills. It was really dusty and sandy, this Island was nothing like anything I have seen before. I slowly walked around the Island, studying everything in my surroundings. I came across a large cave, rocks that had been smashed together made the outside but inside compacted sand lined the walls and normal soft sand covered the floor.

Inside the cave near the back was a pile of animal bones and a freshly caught fish. I backed away from the cave and turned around slightly scared, when I saw the very same dragon that destroyed my village, the Sand Wraith.

I froze in pure fear and terror, i couldn't believe my luck, out of all the Islands i drifted to it was the exact one the Sand Wraith calls home. I took my axe from my belt and held it tightly, this was it, i was about to kill the Dragon that killed my friends and my own Father.

The Dragon didn't move, it didn't tunnel beneath the ground and kill me like i thought it would, instead it just stood there and stared at me. I raised my axe and prepared myself to finally wear its head as my helmet, just as i was about to swing the axe down on the Dragon's neck, it moved its body so i could see its side.

I gasped and dropped the axe i was still holding, it hit the sand with a thud, i carefully moved towards the Sand Wraith, now i understand why he didn't attack me, he's hurt pretty bad. I reached in my satchel and pulled out a cod, i slowly extended my arm out towards the Sand Wraith, it turned its head, sniffed the fish and took it out of my hand.

"It's okay, i'm just trying to help you, just let me look at it," i whispered to the Dragon, it made a deep rumble in its throat. I inspected its wound, the skin was ripped apart and small amounts of blood were dripping from the cuts. As i looked closer i saw something remarkable, near the dragon's neck was a bite mark from a Dragon and not just any Dragon, it was a Night Fury.

I reached in my satchel again and pulled out a small bottle, untwisted the lid and warned the Dragon, "I'm not going to hurt you i'm just giving you something to help heal your wounds," there was no point in talking to the Sand Wraith but i felt better doing so. I dropped the liquid in the bottle onto the Dragons wounds, it flinched but didn't attack me. The wound started to close over and all that was left was a large scar.

It suddenly moved so its head was facing me, its black eyes staring straight towards me. I outstretched my arm towards the Dragon and watched it closely. It didn't protest, all it did was raise its head so its snout met my hand. The Dragon broke away and just stood there staring at me, all i said was "Sandstorm" and the Dragon made another rumble in its throat as approval.

Without hesitation, i clambered onto Sandstorm's back, he shifted beneath me because of the added weight. Once he settled, he spread his wings out to both sides, lifted off the ground and we started flying, searching for other dragons and people.

Our flight had taken us to another Island, we landed on the grass and i hoped off Sandstorm. It was quite a nice place, tall healthy trees, nice green grass covered the ground but the loud sound of a roar interrupted my thoughts. Beside me i heard Sandstorm make a loud growl in his throat, something was here that he didn't either trust or know.

I continued to look at Sandstorm and his movements, he suddenly looked up, i followed his gaze and met the frightening gaze of two red eyes. Looking at the figure it was a Dragons body, dark blue in colour and had the shape of a... no it couldn't be, all my years i never thought i would see one, hovering in front of me was a Night Fury.

It wasn't attacking but it wasn't being friendly either, then out of the blue it started flying, picked me up off the ground in its feet and started to carry me away. I wriggled and shook but then realized it probably wasn't a good idea considering i might fall to my death, instead i yelled out to my Dragon "Sandstorm, follow me! Don't lose sight of me!" he took to the air and followed behind.

We flew for what felt like hours but was only a few minutes before i saw a Viking Village on the same Island, there were a bunch of people walking around pushing carts of fish or harvested crops. They paid no attention to the Night Fury or us, instead the Dragon continued to carry me to some kind of Hall, before the Dragon landed it put me on the ground and turned around to land and kept a close eye on me.  

Sandstorm landed soon after and the Night Fury didn't protest. A few moments later a girl dressed like a Chief with pure red hair and pure ice blue eyes walked next to the Dragon and ran her hand along the Dragons body as she made her way towards Sandstorm and I.

She stopped right beside the Night Furies head and looked at me suspiciously. She eyed me down before focusing her attention on my Dragon, he snarled in response. "I see why Starshot brought you to me. Let me introduce us i am Scarlet Red and this is my Night Fury Starshot. Who are you?" i looked towards Sandstorm and he gave a small nod before i faced back to Scarlet Red. "This is my Sand Wraith, Sandstorm and my name is Midnight".

Horrible ending i know but i don't care. Anyway just to sum up Scarlet Red is RubyKat44's character and Midnight is my character my character does have a proper name but i am calling her that for now muhahaha. By the way Ruby i hope you don't mind i made it so that your dragon went flying around by itself as you were busy being Chief, sorry for the change in story. Anyway i will update ASAP bye for now!
