my eyes strained and my breathing accelerated as i swiped my screen hurriedly.

a squeal echoed in my empty room as i finished the story.

jim and kyliana got married!

i completed yet another wattpad story, but i couldn't stop reading. it was ridiculous, and i was constantly tired, but it was definitely worth it.

my mother entered my room, scolding me at the sight of my eyes open.

i retorted nothing rude, but carried on with my story because my story was definitely more interesting than what my mother was going to say.

glimpsing every minute or so, i'm surprised that she hasn't noticed me.

however, she seems a little bit caught in her own mind at the moment.

her little braids are put to the side of her face and the polka dot freckles crinkle at her phone screen. what could possibly be so important that she reads everyday?

then the school bus lurches forward and my body shifts from one aisle to the next, landing on kaleb's lap.

insults were thrown at me, but none quite this sharp. "hey, gay dude, stop leading him on!"

offended, my mind spoke for myself and i spat, "envious?"

before i could catch what they were trying to say, the bus stopped and i gratefully ran home, books tumbling across my backpack and realizing that at the last moment they had unzipped my backpack, forcing me to retrace my steps and attempt to recollect my papers.

as i made my way across the street, a strange figure appeared by my side, and without another word, took me.
