Chanel.

Today was the first day of college. The fact I am going college is still surprising for me. Nevertheless I actually do want to make something of myself.

Living in foster care has proven to me that someone like me is needed in these types of environments. In fact this is the only place I love being most of the time.

Most people hate their foster homes but with me being the eldest girl all the other girls look up to me. Like their big sister.

Why am I in care you ask? Well let's just say my family are the furthest thing from a family. I was too unruly for them so my mother put me out. I shake my head everytime I think of that failure of a woman five girls and her star boy Matthew. That boy couldn't do nothing wrong. Her first born and only boy. Ugh. I was glad she kicked me out. I did miss my sisters though. I saw them as we went same secondary school and the primary school wasn't far off. But now I'm going college I won't get to see them.
So the kids at the home will suffice.

My phone rang, it was from a name saved as "don't answer" it was Corey. I don't know why this boy wouldn't leave me alone. I just ignored it and continued getting ready for college.

I looked in the mirror. 5"7 slim but thick I had big eyes and curly hair. I looked like I was mixed but I wasn't. My daddy just had good hair.
I decided to wear an Adidas black and white tracksuit with my fresh cocaine white Adidas trainers and my black Adidas college bag that I got for college.

Due to me passing my GCSEs with good grades I was given an allowance for me to go into college looking somewhat decent and also have the books and stationery needed. There was a knock at my door. It was Mummy Lisa as everyone called her.

"All ready for college?" She asked.

"Yep." I said smiling. I noticed the tears in her eyes.
"Ahhhh cmon L..." I said to her.

"I'm sorry. I'm just so proud of you. You have come so far...something always tries to get in your way and you never allow it to beat you...and with what you had to go through over the summer..."

"Cmon lets not do this I'm meant to be going to college in a good mood!" I moaned.

"It's true. You're right you're right. Before you go I have something for you..." She said and gave me a gift bag. Inside was a three piece box set. I opened it up and smiled. Chanel earrings, chain and bracelet. I loved Chanel jewellery and it just so happens that was my name.

"Thank you!!" I smiled as I hugged her and she helped me put it on.
I went and hugged all the kids and left out.

We lived in a rough area. Once you left my house the next two minutes were always unpredictable. People could get killed, robbed, beaten up, raped, kidnapped, the possibilities were endless. Police were always hesitant to come to the area. Wouldn't attend until an hour later. By then the chances are someone could have died.

I was hoping as it was early that no one would be out and I wouldn't be seen. But not such luck.

"Why you been ignoring my calls?" I heard Corey ask me.

"What do you want?" I asked him as I continued walking.

"Where you going looking so pretty?" Corey asked me.

"To see my boyfriend..." I said and started to laugh. My laughter was cut short by him grabbing me and pinning me up against the wall.

"You think that's funny? You ain't got no boyfriend! I'm your boyfriend! Let me find out you got yourself a lil boyfriend I swear on your life I'll kill him." He threatened. I kicked him in his shin.

"Why don't you just go and die? Why are you constantly trying to be in my life? You had a choice, you had a chance, you didn't want to be with me. You wasn't ready. That's all good and well. But please understand you blew it. I will never trust you again. I want nothing more to do with you. So go and be with one of those whores who scream for you daily!" I said and walked off.

"This ain't over Chanel!" I heard him say as I walked off.
Corey was my ex. I thought he was the love of my life. But over the summer I realised how wrong I was.

I got the tube for three stops before getting off. Once outside I was walking distance from my college. As I got closer to the entrance I started getting nervous. Maybe college wasn't for me. I decided to turn around and go home. As I turned around I bumped into a group of guys.

"Woah..." One of them said as I walked straight into him.

"Sorry..." I said to him. He looked at me, he looked at me for a bit too long actually.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah. I'm good thanks. Sorry again." I said and walked off.

As I walked off I couldn't help but think how handsome he was...
