If there's one thing I never liked its roller coasters. Especially the ones that go really fast and have all these twist and turns. So its just my luck that the portal feels like that.I open my eyes to see where I am and why I feel like I'm on one of those horrid roller coasters. I see blue, purple, and colors I've never even seen before. I look at the very end to see a little bulb of light growing bigger and bigger until I'm plopped out onto hard pavement.

This is definitely not the attic. The world around me is covered in weird vegetation, with flowers bigger than me and grass smaller than an ant. There's a shrill buzzing noise increasing every second. The sky is purple with darker purple storm clouds headed this way at a rapid rate. Or that's what I thought. As they approached closer I could make out that it was what looked like giant hummingbirds.

All of a sudden the hummingbirds start dive bombing towards me, they're beaks sharper than a pencil. What's happening! I braced for the worst but nothing happened. I opened my eyes to see a boy fighting of the hummingbirds.

He throws these little bombs at a group of hummingbirds. I see a bright flash and the group is gone. A few come from the other side but he's quicker than them. He has a sword in the other hand killing the flying killers. One of them scratches his shoulder but he doesn't seem to care. He throws a few more bombs until the birds start to retreat. "Darn, slicers," he mutters while clutching his wound.

"WHAT IS GOING ON! WHO ARE YOU!," I scream, taking in too much at once. He turns around and I immediately recognize him. "You! The creepy window guy!," I say, rubbing my temple. This cannot be true! I must be dreaming. I pinch my arm, trying to wake up as he watches me. " Are you ok?, " he asks with a weird look on his face. Instead of responding with a no I say dramatically, "Who. Are. You?" " My name is Alec Saphrine, and I am your protector. I serve the Rosian rebellion." I try to say something but all i can make out is a whimper. My knees feel wobbly and I start to fall. He catches me before I could hit the ground and I black out.

*********

"Where am I?" I groan as I sit up. And then I see him. "It's all real. Everything was real." I mumble to myself. Alec hands me a glass of water so I can sip from. I immediately feel better after drinking it. " Thank you," I say trying to stay calm, " Do you mind telling me where I am and what I'm doing here?" "Sure," he says.

"Welcome to Reflection. A few years back, when I was a young boy there was a great kingdom. Everything was well until the prophecy. It told us of our future and it wasn't good. The kingdom would be taken over soon by... an enemy, and our only hope was outside of The Mirror. After the kingdom got taken over we found out more of the destined savior. After sending her into Reflection, The Mirror would break into 100 pieces and no one could go through it unless the savior took back the kingdom. Later on we found out that our savior's name was Rose. After that we formed our rebellion." He looked at me with a concerned face, like he was afraid of what he was going to say next.

"I noticed signs about a month ago and thats when your dad came into Reflection. The witch knew of the prophecy and she thought that your dad was you and..... they took him, Rose." He said as he put his hand on mine. But I sat there frozen. Dad. What's going to happen to him. " I know this is a lot to take all at once," Alec says distracting me from my thoughts. " I promise we will find him but we need you. You're the only one who can take the kingdom back.
I sat there thinking for a long time. The only way I can get my dad back and go home is to do this. After a while I take my water and gulp it down. I get up and look at Alec. "Let's get started, then."
