Patrick's POV:
A few weeks have gone by since we kissed. We actually started dating, unbeknownst to the others, of course.
They wouldn't let me hear the end of it.It made a change to going to bars every night, stealing moans from strangers' mouths and then creeping out of the hotel room by dawn.
It was a good change.
She held me down whenever I felt anxious, or I was starting to lose my sense of self. It's easy to when you're performing non stop for thousands of people.
She's the toughest, most beautiful person I've ever met. Like a diamond in the rough. Dare I say, Pete couldn't have chosen a better bodyguard for me.
We all seem to have been avoiding the topic of why she was chosen in the first place. When we would carry out our plans.
I think it's because we knew, if we launched ourselves into it there was a chance that something would go horribly wrong. That things would never be the same again.
The thought frightened all of us into resisting the topic as best we could.
The Silencers already knew who we were, and for all we knew, we were at the top of their hit list.

We were lounging in the studio, which now served as our makeshift headquarters. It's walls were garnished with platinum and gold records, suspended obnoxiously. An air of anticipation was about the place, as if we were waiting for someone to say what we were all thinking, but too scared to utter out loud.
Cat was perched next to me on the arm of the sofa, squinting down at something on her phone. Her sunglasses served as a headband for her now neck length hair.
Pete and Andy were discussing something to do with gear and Joe was playing around with his guitar in the booth, leaving me with nothing to do.
This is what always happened whenever someone called a meeting. We would sit around, swerving the issue at hand, and I for one was growing tired of it.
"Hey, guys?" I cleared my throat, making Cat look up from her screen and Pete and Andy pause their conversation.
"Can we actually talk about this now? Instead of dancing around it?" I enquired, folding my arms.
Pete gave me a look I couldn't quite decipher, but nonetheless beckoned Joe out of the booth to join us.
He sauntered in and slumped down next to me, a confused expression painted on his face.
"So, I think we should act soon. Deliver the briefcase as quickly as we can. Tomorrow, even." I said, not waiting another moment.
"I don't know, Patrick," Pete sighed "I don't think it's time yet."
"It's only a matter of time before they find us. We should do this now, before it's too late." I commented
Andy gave a small nod of approval and Joe remained indifferent.
"And if it all goes wrong?" Pete enquired
"Like you said when we first met, all we have to do is get the briefcase to where it needs to be. Nothing major, it'll be fine.
I turned to Cat and placed a hand on her lower thigh.
"We'll be fine," I smiled up at her.
Pete raised his eyebrows at me and I quickly jerked my hand away from her. He gave me a look, before clearing his throat.
" let's do it tomorrow then. Cat, you need to be at Patrick's at 6 am sharp tomorrow. No excuses" Pete said irritably.
He stalked off to the booth, leaving us alone with our thoughts.
"It is just delivering a briefcase, right?" Cat mused aloud as she picked at her already chipped nail polish.
"Yeah, don't you worry," I assured her. "After that we'll be safe."
Suddenly, Pete burst back into the room with a handful of equipment. He tossed each of us an ear piece accompanied by a small walkie talkie.
"Just in case we need to communicate something urgently," he muttered.
"Well, I'm going to head home." Cat sighed, standing up "I need an early night, if I'm going to get up at such an ungodly hour tomorrow,"
I chuckled and winked at her as she shuffled out of the studio, leaving the guys looking as though they had just been told the time and day of their deaths.
