A.N: First of all: Thank you to nerdsagainsthumanity, Amethystknight1, and Renee-bookworm14 for the suggestions! And for reminding me that this story needs to have something about nightmares in it. So, yeah. Nightmare predicament thingy and some of Will's made-up back story!~
Second of all: Enjoy!~
Nico's P.O.V
I sit on the floor of a cave, slumped against the wall, unable to move my left leg for some reason. I see a girl, probably about my age, smiling down at me.
I look to my left, seeing Will's head resting against the stone floor. I'd be worried he's dead, but he's breathing steadily...
"You're strong. I'll give ya that." The girl remarks. "Too bad." I close my eyes, rolling my head back from the sharp pain in my leg. I hear a gunshot, I look down and try to move, but it's too late. The blood is already seeping into my clothes...
My eyes snap open as I jolt back into reality. "Fu-....." I trail off, knowing Will wouldn't want me to cuss. "....dge..." I finish.
"Nice try, Nico." Will chuckles, looking up from his book.
"Why are you up so late?" I question, glancing at the clock. "It's almost three o'clock... Don't you have to get up with the sunrise everyday?"
"Well, yeah... But I gotta study..." He answers, exhaustion in his voice. "What about you...? Another nightmare?" I nod, looking down at my lap, images rushing back into view. "Anything I can do to help?" He offers.
"Nah. Though I might just want to talk to you until morning. I really don't want to go back to sleep..."
"Alright." He puts down his book. "Why don't we play 20 Questions?" He suggests.
"Sure. I'll start..." I actually had a question bugging me since I woke up. "What are you even studying for? It's summer..."
"Oh, well that's easy!" He holds up the book for me to read the title. "Just medical stuff... I wanna get into college as soon as possible."
I was about to ask another question, but he cut me off. "My turn." He smiles deviously... Oh no. "Why'd you lie to me?"
"What? When...?"
"When you said you couldn't dance! Obviously you could, and you were pretty good at it, too... Okay, really good..."
"Oh..." Way to hit a touchy subject, Will... "Uh, Bianca taught me... When we were younger. She thought it would help warm us up at night..." He seem like he wants to hear more, so I continue. "She'd sing in Italian while we danced.... Though for some reason she taught me the girls' part..."
"That's... Wow."
"Yeah... Anyway. My turn." I paused for dramatic affect. "Why do you want to be a doctor so badly? Isn't healing just your natural born talent as a kid of Apollo?"
"Actually, no. I've been studying since I was nine. Before that I wanted to be a race car driver..."
"Okay." I laugh. "But you didn't answer my original question."
"Awe, man... Why? Well... When I was seven, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. And by the time I was nine, my aunt and uncle -whom I'd been living with- brought me into her room, telling me the doctors were going to pull the plug." He somehow managed to smile... Whenever I think about my mom I want to cry... "When I was saying goodbye, I promised her I'd be a doctor, like her, and save lives... I also promised I'd discover the cure to cancer, so nobody else would have to go through what she did..." We both stay silent for a minute, before he speaks up again. "So... Yeah. My turn, Di Angelo."
"Not this again... Okay, shoot." He smiles.
"Do you still know Italian?"
"Sì, idiota." I roll my eyes at him. He stares at me, wide-eyed.
"Can ya say more?"
"Sure. But you'll have to wait your turn."
He groans in annoyance. "Fine. Hurry up, please..."
"Okay... What's your middle name?" He reddens in embarrassment.
"Seriously?! Why not ask me my favorite animal, or color, or number...? Anything!"
"Dog, blue and seven. Answer the question."
"Dangit. How do you know so much about me...?"
"You talk... A lot."
"Oh... Okay, fine... My middle name is..." He mumbles something, but I can't make it out.
"Speak up, Solace."
"Summer. My full name is William Summer Solace." He sighs, obviously hr doesn't like almost being named after the summer solstice. So, of course, I laugh like a maniac. And clapping.
"That's amazing. I love it... Summer."
"Shut up! Anyway," He not-so-discreetly flips me off. "My turn."
"Wow, Will. And you gripe at me for saying 'fudge'" I mockingly shale my head at him. "Shame on you."
"Whatever. Can you say something romantic in Italian...?" I swear, he has no shame...
"I could. But I'm not a romantic person."
"Please! Please, please, please, please, please?!" He begs, causing me to smirk.
"Fine... Ti voglio bene, deficiente." He stares at me, blankly.
"What'd that mean? It sounded surprisingly nice..."
"I said 'I love you, moron'" I roll my eyes. We continue playing until sunrise, I said some pretty weird things in Italian... If you know what I mean. Though I refused to translate most of them... (And for some reason I think he had a nosebleed at some point...?)
A.N: So... Yeah. Fluff chapter before I rip your hearts out. Love you guys!~
Btw, I'm thinking about writing a book of Solangelo oneshots... I have a pretty good idea for the first one, but I'm not sure about many others... Anyway, that'll probably be out by the time most of you read this. So, feel free to check it out and/or leave ideas!! :D
