This story is translated from one of my favourite Celtic tales
"Gelert y ci ffyddlon" which translates to "Gelert the loyal dog" which translates to "Gelert the loyal dog" I just loved the tale so much I had to write it again but I had to write it how i see the events happen.

Main characters :
Gelert: is a gray wolfhound that is owned by the prince of Wales Llywelyn gryfidd in the 13 century and this scruffy dog is a loyal and faithful companion to the prince.
Llwelyn: is the prince of Wales in the 13 century and he is owner to gelert the dog
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Hay boy comming hunting" Llywelyn called to his dog,but the dog didn't move, he sat near the baby's cradle looking at his master with sad eyes,
"Strange he ushaly gets all excited when you ask him that" Llywelwyn's wife said,
"He must be unwell" she told her husband as she stroked Gelert,
"You unwell boy" Llywelyn said as he scratched Gelert behind the ear, gelert muffled his hand."I'll have to go with out you then, sorry boy" Llywelyn and his wife left the room leaving the door open.
for a few mints gelert lay asleep waiting for his master to come home from his hunting trip, but suddenly a blood curdling growl and a black shadow crept closer and closer through the open door.
Out of the shade a gray shaggy wolf came in with white teeth and a red lolling tong, the wolf crept closer and closer growing at gelert, Gelert stood in front of the cradle growling furiously at the wolf showing it's teeth, suddenly the wolf pounded on gelert pushing gelert on the cradle causing the baby boy to cry from the fall, angry gelert pounded at the wolfs neck the wolf yelped in pain and fought back lashing at gelert.
The dog and the wolf fought lashing and biting, the room was covered in blood and there was furnish everywhere the curtains was ripped of the railing's books and clothes covered the floor mixed with blood and fur from the animals.
The wolf was about to make the kill when gelert pounces biting the wolfs neck through its thick fur the wolf yelled and fell.
The tired dog wanted to check on the baby to see if his ok, so he walked near the curtains to see, but as the was about to do that his master came in gelert although so tired and week was happy to see his master he barked in welcome.
Llywelyn was not amused, he saw the cradle on it's side and the floor coverd in blood, he saw his sons blankets crumbled on the floor and covered in blood, he thought that gelert killed his son.
Anger borrowed through him as he pulled his blade and stabs Gelert in the hart the dog yelled a dying yelp.
Llywelyn yelled sorrow thinking that his son had perished, but a baby cry answer his yell, the baby was fine he discovered that gelert saved his son and killed the wolf.
With grief he berried his dog and gave him a big ceremony.
But that was not enough to feed his sorrow, he is still haunted by that dying yelp and it is said that he never smiled again.
