MIA

I sat with Isla and the guys at lunch the next day.

"Cheerleading Tryouts are after school Mia," Isla said.

"Good," Davis 1 said.

"We need hot cheerleaders," Davis 2 said.

"I know you guys are bad at baseball but, I thought you'd know when someone bats for the other team," Isla said, and took a sip of my drink.

"Oh my God," I laughed.

I took out a cupcake and all six guys and Isla turned their heads to me.

"You've mom gave you a cupcake?" McAllister asked.

"I baked them," I said.

"Mia," Isla said. "I say this with all sincerity, will you marry me?"

"Hang on," Will said. "We don't know if it's good yet."

"I have a bunch," I said, and threw the tuba-wear of cupcakes.

Isla and the guys dug in. A collective groan went through them all.

"Seriously," Isla said. "If you keep baking like this we could elope."

I laughed.

"What is this?" O'Connor asked.

"Well Leprechaun." O'Connor rolled his eyes. "It's nothing extravagant, just Apple cupcakes with a vanilla frosting."

"Can you teach Isla to bake and cook?" Will asked. "Last time she made something I was in the infirmary."

"Stop exaggerating," Isla said. "And I can cook."

"Yeah," Will snorted. "Instant noodles. And you still burned it."

"Son of a bitch," Isla muttered.

"I'm your twin brother," he said. "The bitch is your mom too."

She snorted. "Tell me about it."

"Back to cheerleading," Isla said. "Are you going?"

"Why you want to see me run around in a miniskirt?" I asked.

"That's part of the reason," Isla admitted. "But you said, you were a cheerleader at your old school."

"Yeah I'm signing up," I said. "How 'bout you?"

Isla cackled. "That was the best laugh I've had in weeks," she said, wiping false tears.

"I'm serious," I said.

"No."

"Why not?" I asked.

"The cheer squad is anti-LGBT," Will said.

"They're not anti-LGBT," Isla rushed in. "They're just anti me."

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I stole their boyfriends even though I have no interest in them," she said. "When I came out some pigs were turned on, they dumped their girlfriends on the cheer squad Isla the Queer. The girls think I'm faking being gay to get guys."

"It's stupid," Finnegan said.

They must have sensed my fear because they said. "You'll be fine."

Isla squeezed my hand. "I'll be in the stands. You'll be fine."

"Me-ah Grant," a cheerleader, Sidney, called.

"It's My-ah," I said.

"Wait," another cheerleader, Shelby, said.

I stopped in my tracks.

"If you're Chinese why do you have a white name?" She asked.

"Mean Girls much?" Isla yelled from the stands.

I smiled. "My mom is Chinese," I explained. "My dad's Italian."

"We didn't ask for your life story," snapped head cheerleader, Macy.

"I'm sorry I—"

"Just do your damn routine," she snapped.

I pressed play on my music. Isla cheered as Gay Best Friend blasted through the speakers.

I did a triple forward handspring and five backward handsprings. A line of cartwheels and front flips back to my original spot. I kicked my legs to my head and did a double hook. I did a combination of twists and flips and landed in a split.

"Holy shit," Shelby said.

"Hate the song," Macy said. "But you've got moves. You're on the team."

"Fuck yeah!" The guys yelled from behind me.

They had stopped playing soccer to watch my routine. They hadn't stopped for any other girls.

I laughed as the guys and Isla hugged me dragging me to the ground.

A/N:

Sorry for the long wait. School just started and it's hard as fuck. And shit had been going down so I'm emotional and physically drained. I went to bed at 10 last night you know how early that is for a person who has read until 4 multiple times. Next update in 30 mins
