Valerie
"He's coming."
I snapped my head towards the direction Fiona was looking at. He was coming. He's coming. Oh goodness.
I cleared my throat, fixed my hair and slipped a piece of mint gum in my mouth in a substantially small amount of time.
He started smiling a kind, gentle smile as he got closer to us.
"May I talk to you?" he asked softly. Was he talking to me? Well, he was looking at me. Why is a guy talking to me? Correction, why is a hot guy talking to me? Dear Lord. Okay, Valerie do not mess this up. Knowing myself, I would mess it up. I would much rather kill him than talk to him. I mean, I like him but I can't talk to him. What if he likes me and I mess it up by opening my mouth? Likes me? What am I thinking? Ugh..
I realized I was just staring at him silently when he awkwardly cleared his throat. "Oh. Um, yes. You may talk to me whenever you like." I giggled uncertainly.
"Now would be great." he smirked.
My eyes widened when I realized how retarded I sounded. "Oh, right."
"We'll leave you two to discuss whatever you need to discuss." Fiona, Aiden, and Eli got up simultaneously.
"Wait, what? No! I wanna say I was there when they first spoke when I give a speech at their wedding!" Jack chanted.
"Jack." Eli growled through clenched teeth.
Jack rolled his eyes, got up, and left. He can't keep his mouth closed. Now he made it more awkward than it already was.
"He didn't make it awkward." he assured.
Did I say that out loud? I couldn't have. I didn't. I'm positive I didn't. "How-?"
"I could see it in your face you were thinking that." he interrupted.
I opened my mouth to speak but I was interrupted once more. "You also don't have to feel awkward about having a crush on me."
I was taken aback by this. He knew. But, how? I had only told Fiona, Aiden, Eli, and Jack, and they didn't even get up from the cafeteria table. This guy is seriously mysterious.
"You've sent many involuntary messages. For example, when I would look over to your table, you would be glancing over and giggling with Fiona." he explained.
"How do you know her name?" I raised my eyebrows.
"I read your lips when you called her and she turned around." he explained.
My mouth sort of dropped. This guy can't be serious. I decided to drop the subject and continue talking about something else. "What did you need to talk to me about?"
"Daniel Romano." he explained.
That name seemed familiar, but I couldn't quit put my finger on it. "Who?" I asked.
He inhaled through his teeth. "Ouch. He was right."
"What?"
"Do me a favor, dear. Talk to him, get to know him, and hang out with him. I don't need him disturbing my mi-... I mean schoolwork." he covered. "He's sitting at the table with Skylar. You know Skylar, correct?"
I nodded. I sadly did. I agreed that I would talk to Daniel and he smiled, and walked away.
There's something wrong with this guy. I stared at him. He can sense emotions, guess thoughts, and he's secretive. Whatever this is, it could be dangerous to me. I shouldn't act like I'm onto him. But, no matter what, I'm going to figure out what's wrong with the guy. No matter if it kills me or not. Maybe talking to Daniel will get me closer to Shane.
