My heart was racing as I stared at Connor. I took a step back, "So, who were they?" Conner asked, his voice timidating. "W-Who?" I acted like I didn't know what he was talking about. "Don't play dumb with me." Conner warned, stepping forward and grabbing my wrist. With my luck we were in the part of the halls no one was. "Let go!" I yelled, trying to wiggle free from his death grip. No use. "You've been gone for hours. I watched you step out of that car! Was it the guy who ran to your rescue?" He squeezed my wrist tighter and I felt tears start forming in my eyes. "Conner." "Answer." He hissed. I knew he was mad because he thought I told someone who he was. "I didn't tell!" I yelled, his eyes looked relieved. "I still want to know who it was." He released his grip and I brought my wrist up to my chest and held it with my other hand. "I don't know, just some guys I ran into on the street they drove me home. It wasn't the same guy who stopped you." I said, not telling him about the part where I was at their house for the whole night basically. He sighed heavily. "And what did you tell them when they asked about this, assuming they did." He asked, his tone harsh as he pointed to my beat up and swollen face. "They never asked, because they were polite." I lied, looking at the ground to avoid eye contact. I couldn't let him know I was lying, I'd be dead. "Fine, see you tomorrow for breakfast, Katie." He said with a small smirk, then left me alone standing in the halls.
I was completely relieved when he didn't ask where they had found me. I couldn't tell him it was the same guy who helped me when Conner was beating the living shit out of me.
Zayn's POV
The car ride was really awkward back to Liam's flat for some reason. The car doors clicked open and we stepped out. "Hey! Guys! Isn't this Katie's?" Louis asked, I looked back at him, as he held up a girl's windbreaker jacket. "It is." I said. "Let's return it tomorrow. She's probably asleep or something." Harry said. I nodded. We walked into Liam's flat. We were all staying here again, like we usually did. Harry and Louis' place was being renovated so this is where they stayed, and the rest of us just wanted to stay here. "SLEEEPOVER!" Niall cheered as Louis, Harry and I walked in. We all laughed, and I hung up Katie's jacket. "Were you guys taking Katie back?" Liam asked us. "Yeah." Harry answered him, walking into the kitchen and grabbing a muffin.
We all sat in the living room. "Ya know, I really can't believe someone did that to Katie." Liam said, shaking his head. "Yeah, imagine witnessing it." Louis sighed, "it was terrible." I couldn't even imagine it, I didn't want to. She was such a great person why would anyone want to do that to her? I needed to know who it was who did it, I wanted to make him pay.
Katie's POV
I dragged myself into my room, flicking the light on and making sure the door was locked. "Shit." I cursed, realizing I forgot my jacket. I threw my phone on the bed, and quickly got changed into my panda bear pajama pants. I threw my hair up, turned off the light, and crawled in bed. They would probably bring it back later, or I would get it myself. I reached into the bedside table and took my inhaler. It felt so good to just relax. I need more of this. But Conner makes sure I don't. I wondered what tomorrow would bring, hopefully a good day. Today wasn't bad, being with the boys all day was really fun honestly, being away from Connor especially.
I woke up to tapping. Light was seeping through my curtins, I squinted, rubbing my eyes and groaning. I walked over to the door, I unlocked it and when I opened it no one was there. I closed it again, but the tapping continued. I ran over to the window, where I heard the tapping again. I opened the curtins to reveal absolutly nothing. I groaned, walking back over and crawling in my bed. It was 10:00am sharp. When I was just about asleep the tapping started again. By this point I was annoyed. I ran over to my window, snapping it open and looking out. I screamed looking down. People were running around and if I fell I'd land right on a car. It was pretty far down. I found it hard to swallow as I took a step back. I hated heights. I closed the window and sat back on my bed. What an absolutely wonderful wake up. I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and dug through my suitcase, pondering about what I was going to wear. I was planning on going to Liam's flat to get my jacket that I stupidly forgot. It was freezing out and that was all I brought, well that and my basketball hoodie which is as thin as paper, but I would have to wear it anyway. I picked out a long boxy tribal print shirt and black leggings. I slipped them on and also put on some grey boots I packed. I walked into the bathroom and brought along my make up. It was hard to look in the mirror, my right eye was bruised and swollen, and my lip was busted. I had a big bruise near my hairline and there was a small cut under my nose. I looked away, I hated seeing myself like this, I looked weak and vulnerable. I tried to push past the feeling, and started to try and cover up the bruises and such as much as I could. You could still notice but I looked better than before. I put my wavy hair in a messy ponytail and slipped on the grey hoodie.
When I opened my door, I checked to see if Connor was in the corridor. I jogged down the hall and into the little room where the elevators were. There was no sign of him. I clicked the button and waited. It took several minutes for the elevator to come but when it did I couldn't have been more happy. I clicked the ground floor and waited.
The door squeaked open and I walked out, checking for Connor again. I then ran out the doors and ran until the hotel was out of sight. Then I tried to remember the street. I thought hard, then finally remembered. I took a few turnes until I saw the familliar place. I took a shaky breath and then walked up to the door step. I tried to keep my hands from shaking but it was hard. But, I managed to knock. The door opened a tiny crack and I saw a blue eye. "Katie?" The door flew open. ''Hey Louis." I said with a shaky breath. It made me nervous being around them, I thought they would randomly start hating me like everyone else and talking to guys I had no experience with. "Come in!" He exclaimed. Though I had no choice really, he grabbed my wrist before I could answer and pulled me inside. Lou, who is it- Katie!" Zayn yelled, walking in. Within seconds Harry, Liam and Niall were there too. "What are you doing here?" Liam asked. "We were gonna go find you to return this." Niall said, picking my folded clean jacket from off the chair.
"That's what I came for." I said with a smile, taking it. "Thank you guys so much. You really didn't have to wash it." I told them. "Hey, It's the least we could do." Harry told me. "Hey, you want some hot chocolate? It's pretty cold out. And by the colour of your cheeks, I'm guessing you walked." Liam offered with a laugh. "Uhh." I pondered for a moment. "No really, It's okay. You guys are probably busy." I said. "No, It's fine. We're not busy at all." "Oh, okay." I gave in and they all smiled.-
We sat on the couch for like an hour just talking and drinking hot chocolate until something disturbed us. A knock on the door. I flinched and Zayn gave me a weird look. Niall jumped up and did the same thing Louis did for me, he peeked out a small crack of the door. "Who are you?" Niall's soft voice became hard. I stared at the partly opened door and Niall. I couldn't see who was there. ''My name's Connor. Is Katie here?" My heart sank and my palms became sweaty. The door opened and Connor was revealed. "Oh no.'' I wispered under my breath. "Katie someone's here for you.." Niall said, backing away from the door. I slowly stood up. I gave the other boys a pleading look but they just looked confused. I stood beside Niall in fear. "Ah Katie!" Connor said, sounding relieved to see me even though I knew he was sheilding his smirk. "Connor, how'd you-" "Find you?" Connor finished for me. "I followed you from our hotel." He said. He then looked at Niall and the boys who were now standing up. "I'm Katie's boyfriend. I followed her here to find out why she was always gone and lying to me. And now I know. She's been hanging out with other boys." He now had a strong grip on my wrist. "What!? No!-" "C'mon Katie. We're leaving. You're such a whore." He growled in my ear. Tears were brimming in my eyes. The boys expressions were shocked. "He's ly-" I tried to scream. "KATIE WE'RE LEAVING." He yelled and pulled me out. I was sobbing and screaming but the boys just stared after me. The door closed but I continued to kick and scream.
"Connor why!?" I cried trying to pull away from him. He smirked, "one thing I said wasn't a lie, whore."
