-Chapter 1-
-Owen-
"No, no, NO! I swear to God, you can't get anything right!" I yelled to the frightened freshman who had won the election for student body vice president. I forgot his name... Kevin, was it?
"I'm s-sorry, Owen..."
"Ugh, don't apologize, just get it right. The band preps in the music room, and then set up more chairs here in the AUDITORIUM. Understood?"
"Yes... yes... I'll get right on it." He dashed out as quickly as he could and I groaned in frustration.
A voice chuckled from the corner of the large auditorium, leading for me to look up and see who it was.
"Never changed much, huh Owen?" Asked the voice that could only belong to Jonah Crowe. Jonah had always been the dreamer of my class, being the artist and proud bisexual, he never looked at what life may put ahead of him.
"I will when you do, Jonah." I replied bitterly, looking back down at my clip board and jotting down a few notes quickly.
"You mean when I tie myself down to making my own and others lives miserable? No thanks. That's your job."
"Ah. Well I see you've taken to be the grown man who is broke and tries to sell artwork for a living, not being able to support a family."
Jonah chuckled. "If that's so, at least I'm doing what I love, creating art. Where as you'll spend your whole life being daddy's little boy, making him proud by living his life."
I glared at Jonah, meeting his eyes. But I took a few seconds to notice how beautiful they were... a blue that just stunned my heart. He chuckled and began to walk down the stairs to get closer to me, my eyes taking in every stride he made. He truly was gorgeous....
Before I knew it, he was standing before me.
-Jonah-
I stood in front of Owen, hiding the attraction I had for him the best I could. He was a work of art, his body so toned and muscular....a beautiful tan that made me want to make it a color I could buy in a colored pencil. They way his eyes were unsettling, in a way I could never capture them just right in art because of their changing color. His messy blonde hair falling in waves across his forehead..... he was a perfect masterpiece. But I pushed away these thoughts so I could speak a few words to him.
"Face it, Owen, you've never been completely happy.... Your whole life." I said, my big blue eyes standing up to his glare.
He dropped his clipboard, then grabbed my wrist in frustration, with his firm hands. I noticed the calluses he had on his fingers, which always was a good sign me, knowing he created some form of work with his hands. I could never fall for a guy who never worked with his hands.... Because art was my whole life. These thoughts crossed my mind as tingles shut up my arm, my heart beginning to slow. My attraction was almost uncontrollable, my body aching with the lust I had for him.
His expression softened, almost as if he felt the same I did right now... so that's when I began to realize our faces we inching closer and closer....
I felt his breath hot against my lips, but he stopped breathing when our lips brushed against each other. Our gaze didn't break, the look in his eyes frightened... almost has if he was scared to give into his desires.
"Owen? You in here?" Somebody called out from the hallway, about to enter the auditorium.
Owen quickly pulled back, his hand releasing my wrist. His amazing eyes quickly pulled away from mine, his face as flushed as mine was. "Yes.... I'll be in the music room in a second. Leave, Kevin!" He yelled.
I looked up to see Kevin stopped at the doorway, he quickly scooted away, a look of suspicion never crossing his face.
"You should go, Jonah. I have better things to do then try to teach a lesson of reality into that thick skull of yours." Owen spat, not meeting my gaze. He quickly looked up, just to see the hurt in my eyes, then looked away again with a shot of guilt.
"I thought I could change you, but I guess I was wrong." I said simply, leaving the auditorium in a calm pace.
Why did I have to fall for Owen Young?
-
-Owen-
I had settled everything with Kevin for the up band concert, so now I had to move onto my other duties as student body president.
I looked at my clipboard and noticed I only had one thing left before I had to resume my classes, address the art class on my proposal. I sighed, knowing the boy I almost kissed was in that class. I waited till the bell rang, then headed towards the class. I knocked quietly on the classroom door, waiting till the teacher came and let me in. The teacher called for my fellow peers to stop working and turn their attention to me, which is when the blue eyes met mine. I smiled softly at the whole class, but Jonah was the only one I wanted to be talking to.
"Hello, Gifted Arts class. For those brand new freshman amongst the rest of you returning Lincoln high schoolers, I am your student body president, Owen Young. I am busy putting together many start of the school year events, but this being my Senior year I went to look for good ideas amongst the rest of my class. This classes very own Seniors suggested that we have a Arts Night. I thought this was one of the very best ideas, so that the Seniors of this class may even get scholarships if we have college professors come look at your work you put on display. So, I would like you to vote right now with a show of hands if you like this idea or not." I spoke aloud to the class.
Everybody in the class raised their hands for having the Arts Night, except for a few people.
"Great, majority rules. We will have the Arts Night, but I need you to vote for a representative for this class to help me plan this, but they need to be a Senior."
Nobody stood up, till a girl who looked to be about a sophomore stood up. "I nominate Jonah."
Jonah looked up, looking surprised. There were murmurs of agreements, including the teacher.
"It's settled then, Jonah Crowe will be my assistant." I said, hiding my joyful expression.
