Chapter 5 ~

I trudge out of the bathroom and walk over to my family again and sit down next to my brother, Finn.

"Do you want a drink, love?" My mum asks.

"Uh, yeah, go then. Water please though." I answer. "Y'know, headache and that." I say, pointing to my head.

"Sure, love." My mum smiles, getting up and walking to the bar.

"Bet you're not going to do that again, are you?" My other brother, Pete asks, obviously amused.

I shake my head. "It's actually not funny, alright?"

"It kind of is!" Finn says, with a smile.

I sigh, looking over to the direction my mum went in.

"Some water, please Chas." My mum asks. "Ross has a headache..." She raises her eyebrows, smiling. "Late night."

"Yeah, coming up Emma." Chas smiles. "What type of late night?" Chas raises her eyebrows too.

"Alcohol-related." My mum shakes her head.

"Yeah, my Aaron had one of those last night too. Been moping around, rubbing his head this morning." Chas replies. "It serves him right."

"Alright mum." Aaron says, gruffly coming up behind her.

"Sorry love." Chas smiles, apologetically. "Here's the water."

Chas hands it over.

"Thanks." My mum smiles, walking back to us. "Here love." My mum hands me my water.

"Cheers." I take a sip and place it on the table.

I lean back into the booth seating and look over to the bar where Aaron is stood with his hands in his pockets of his jeans.

Aaron looks around the pub, obviously bored and catches my eye suddenly.

I wink at him with a smile and he blushes slightly and smiles back.

To be completely honest I'm surprised we didn't realise this connection we have before...

"Did you go out with Aaron last night?" My mum asks.

"Yeah, I did."

"I didn't know you two were...friends" My mum says, curious.

"Yeah... Kind of."

"I don't get-" My mum starts to question me on it but I cut her off.

"So I can't go for a couple with my coworker? There's no big deal, mum."

"Okay, love." My mum smiles slightly before making conversation with my dad.

I hear Robert's voice and I look over to the bar again. "Oi, a pint."

Aaron puts his hands on the edge of the bar, looking at him dead in the eye.

Before rolling his eyes, turning around and sighing.

"Oh you been cutting yourself again? Well, don't bleed to death, eh?" Robert responds snidely, looking at Aaron's arms.

Aaron sighs, ignoring him and starts pouring Robert's pint.

I grip the table tightly, filling with anger.

I sigh heavily before reaching into my pocket of my jeans and pulling out my phone.

I click onto my contacts and scroll down 'til I get to Aaron's number.

I click onto it and start writing a text to him. After, I check the text to make sure it's okay.

"Ignore him, Aaron. He's a dick. Haha. XD. You should tell him where to stick it! What did he mean by cutting yourself?"

I smile at the text before sending it.

"You ignoring me now, are you?" Robert asks, staring at Aaron.

Aaron sighs before frowning and reaching into his jeans pocket feeling the vibration of his phone.

I stare at him, watching his emotion to my text.

I hold my breath for moments that feels like an eternity and give a sigh of relief as he smiles down at the text I sent for a second before giving a sad look towards his phone suddenly.

I frown at this before my phone vibrates and I look down.

"I try to but he's just so annoying! Haha :). *sighs* I used to... self-harm.."

I look down, twiddling with my fingers as tears burn into the back of my eyes.

I sigh and try to think before sending a text back.

"Why? :'(. X."

I press send and send the message back before realising what I'd just written! I sent a kiss to AARON!

I breathe frantically, gulping on air, feeling like it was like life or death in this moment.

Dramatic, I know!

I quickly send another text back.

"Sorry, I sent a kiss..."

I look over as he stares at his phone but his facial expression doesn't change, even as he's writing it.

My phone vibrates again and I look down.

"It's okay. I don't mind. It's a long story :/, I'll talk to you sometime about it when we get the chance. If that's okay with you? X."

I smile reading it, stroking my thumb across the text.

"What are you smiling at on your phone?" Finn asks, looking over to my phone and out the corner of my eye I see Aaron look over too with a slightly worried look.

"Uh.. nothing." I smile convincingly, moving my phone away slightly in a different angles so my brother couldn't read it.

"Oh..." Finn smiles and looks away but something in his smile concerns me. It's like he knows something... something in particular...

I text Aaron back quickly because of how much time I just wasted then.

"Ok, I'd like that! You're ok though, aren't cha? Are you free today? X."

Aaron smiles, biting his lip, staring at his phone.

"What you smiling at?" Robert asks, bitterly.

"Nothing, why's that any of your business, 'ey?" Aaron responds back, annoyed.

Robert sighs heavily but doesn't reply back with any insults or comebacks.

"Nice one mate!" I text back again, feeling proud of Aaron.

"Cheers! :). I'm - I guess I'm okay now, I have my moments but nothing I can't handle. It's just Robert... but I'll explain later. I'm free at 8. That an okay time? X."

I take a sip of my water, realising my headache had gone after all.

I smile again looking down at the text in front of me and I send one back.

"No probs. That's good. I'm glad. Tell me anytime if he starts on you. I'll sort him. ;). Yeah, I'm free anytime for you so 8's fine. X."

"Haha, I will. ;). *blushes* *smiles* That's good! See ya then? Xx."

I look across at Aaron to see he had actually started blushing and I couldn't help smile widely at this.

"See you then! :). X." I send the final text back. I bite my lip, leaning back in the seat.

I look over at Aaron one last time with a smile, blushing as I do so and I realise he were already looking at me, biting his lip and looking at me with loving eyes.

But what I didn't know was somebody else was looking at me as this were happening too...
