panic!s new song more like crying

"Okay so that's the project for over half term, if you have questions then you need to see me after school. I will be picking your partners, I don't trust you lot after the hole puncher incident."

Beside me, Brendon groaned. Mr Hollows, our biology teacher, hates him, and so the chances of us two being paired up are slim.

"Alex, you'll be with Pete. Melanie, you'll be with...hm...Dallon. Joshua, you'll be with..."

Bored, I look up at the teacher, waiting for my name to be called. The teacher meets my eyes. "Tyler. Joshua, you'll be with Tyler."

"Do you have any clue on what to do for this? Because I don't." Josh sighs, propping his elbow onto the desk and putting his head in his hand, looking at what I was writing.

For the past twenty minutes, we were supposed to have made a basic plan on what we were doing. Josh had decided to text instead of contributing so I had done everything. I turned to face him, startled. Since he had moved from his seat to next to me twenty minutes ago, he hadn't said a word to me. Now he has, and I didn't know what to do.

"Uhh, yeah." I mumble. Wow, Tyler. Your responses are so descriptive. "So, what are we doing?"

"Well, I picked cells and their functions because uh, I didn't really know what you wanted to do, is that ok?" Josh just nodded, and began to read my plan. "Damn, your pretty smart. I'll probably get a good grade." I frowned, was that supposed to be a compliment? I was about to reply when we were dismissed from class, and Josh shot up and ran over to the door.

I sighed and began to pack up, and then realised that Josh had left his stuff behind. How he forgot, I don't know. But we had a week long holiday starting on Monday, and now I had two reasons to go round his house.

"Lucky little shit." Came a voice from behind me, and Brendon appeared, sitting himself down on my desk. "Can we trade partners please." I whine. Brendon was paired with Patrick, mainly because he arrived late. Brendon raised an eyebrow at me. "Yeah sure, but I thought you'd have been really happy? I mean - you have liked this guy since what, year six? Seven?"

"Eight." I corrected, putting Josh's books into my bag. "But - he tried to speak to me today and I freaked out and it took me like ten seconds to actually register what he was saying and I don't want him to think I'm an idiot." I groan.

Brendon laughs and gets up, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "Do you need a lift? And why do you have his books?" "Ugh yes please. And he left them behind. How do you leave your books behind?!"

"Shall you drop them off? What's his address?"
"Thirty something Vessel Lane." I shrug, pretending not to know that it was thirty-seven. Brendon looks at me like I'm a creep. "How do you know that?" I feel myself blushing. "Remember his lame house party in year nine?" Brendon snorted. "Where he promised there would be alcohol but there was just loads of lemonade? And he played Taylor Swift? Man, that wasn't lame. That was the best party I've ever been too."
